Have you got a joystick plugged in somewhere?

Unplugging my SAITEC rudder pedals works. Unelegant as it may be.
What i do not understand is that SpaceEngine will work fine for some time and then, for no apparent reason, the camera starts to spin uncontrollably ... until i unplug said pedals.

This also happens to me but with lateral movement

I have the same issue. SP works fine to what seems like random point and then camera starts rotating. Unplugged all USB devices but rotation does not stop... Help please.

having the same issue. Screen rotates constantly. I've tried "stop rotation", "stop movement", different modes... nothing works. If I press Q or E it will reverse or rotate faster but it doesn't stop. I'm assuming this is a bug. I have a sim racing rig so a lot of USB peripherals, but I'd really rather not unplug them every time I want to use Space Engine. Plus, if those controls haven't been assigned to those controllers, it shouldn't effect the program, right?

Open the console, type free and hit enter.

Maybe your camera is linked to the rotation of your selected object.

(SyncRot)

So I figured out that it was the dpi setting on my mouse (logitech G502). I had reinstalled the game so when I started it was not rotating. Then I went into controls to reconfigure some things. When I hit calibrate it started rotating again. Then when I hit the dpi button on my mouse and hit calibrate again, the rate of rotation changed. That tipped me off. When I set it to default dpi, and hit calibrate it stopped rotating.

I solved my issue by unbinding the joysticks i had plugged in. if anyone has joysticks try that

Edit:
What fixed it for me is deactivating many human interfaces devices (those which I dind need currently) in the windows 10 device manager.

Same problem here, camera rotates clockwise uncontrollably, numpad 5 doesnt do anything, z also does nothing, with E the clockwise rotation accelerates, while keeping Q pressed it slows down and slowly rotates counter clockwise instead. i cant use the software like that, because i get dissy already after 1min. There must be a solution to this mess!! Dpi settings and calibrating also dont do anything to fix this bug!!!

Issues like that are always caused by unwanted inputs. Try unplugging every input device you have (gamepads, joysticks, any other controllers) except for your keyboard and mouse and see if the issue persists.

Also, which camera mode are you using? If you're not already in it, press 1 on the number row to go to free camera mode, which will make it easier to test the spinning issue.

Would it be so hard to make a keyboard and mouse only option where it ignores all other devices. Unplugging everything is really not a good solution

I'm using camera mode "free". I unplugged every input device i have except my keyboard and mouse. And yes the issue persists. No matter what i do and which mode and whatever i tried to push every single button but the camera always rotates clockwise endlessly. (Hardware: big glowing Roccat Skeltr Gaming Keyboard which needs 2 usb plugs, Roccat Tyon Gaming Mouse) Re installing also didnt do anything. Therefore i was never able to use the software that i bought beacause this bug was there from the start in all modes of the space sim.

Open Device Manager and go to Human Interface Devices. There is a list of all active input devices (regardless if they are physically plugged or not). I disabled one by one and checked again if the rotating stops. You need to restart Space Engine every time you disable a device from this list.

In my case it was the HID-conform Gamecontroller
