0.990 not launching
The free version does start. OpenAL is installed, tried suggested solutions in the other thread.

Reinstalled the game multiple times, with and without HD textures. tried different SSD's and rebooted system/steam multiple times.

Win 10 latest update, i7 7700k, 1070ti.

Just joined, need to wait 10 min then I can contact you. Same issue with the DM, account name is myntt
We was able to solve issue with Bronsko. Solution was like this:
reboot windows > uninstall openal > reboot windows > install openal from https://www.openal.org/downloads/oalinst.zip > reboot windows > start SE

If you go into the game files, the folder "system", and then click on the program to try running it outside of steam, it might come up with an error message which tells you the problem - for example in my case, the message: "The code execution cannot proceed because OpenAL32.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." appears.

In my, and some others in this threads case the message we get is "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)."

This indicates that the application is unnable to start and we obviously dont get a log file. The problem was not fixed by OpenAL sadly and the runtimes required have also been installed manually.

Today the steam runtimes recived a 300MB update but that also did not help. Also updated my GPU drivers, still no fix.

There is something very wrong here because I never had this issue before in my life with any game or executable.

Installing OpenAL Worked for me

Heres how i did it: Tried to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 RC but i had it so it didnt worked. Then i downloaded and installed OpenAL and restarded my PC. Then just open Steam and try to start SE

I hope it works for you :steamhappy:

Still no success :/ I even used the ProcessMonitor to inspect the DLL loading and it does load OpenAL, it loads all DLLs at some point and then just dies with that message :/ I hope it will ever work without stumping my entire system one day.

Download ProcessMonitor from Microsoft, Click on the MenuBar Filter -> Filter -> Process name [is] SpaceEngine.exe [include] -> add filter -> apply. Then run the exe and save the output (with filters applied). It might help the developers to trouble shoot our issue.

До вчерашнего дня((( (The developer has deceived us. No one starts up. 3 years of waiting + money went for a smark. He made it so deliberately, just to tear off the money. In fact, the game and can not run. And I had a better opinion of Romanyuk. Until yesterday((( )

Check your firewall. I have Comodo Internet Security and it tends to block Steam games from running sometimes. Happens rarely and it happened to SpaceEngine with me, it would open a little box and disappear.

For Comodo: open > unblock applications > tick SpaceEngine (it will probably be a filepath) > click unblock button > unblock for all security components

Worth a try checking your own firewalls.
0.000000001% of games are ever affected by any firewalls or antivirus and if they do, the antivirus will tell you it blocked the .exe

this is not the case here.

tried using the process monitor and then placed the openal32.dll manually in every folder process montiro returned (which is a lot of folders)

still doesnt work.

I wish we could have a list of dll and .exe files that are supposed to be shipped with the download so we can cross check that with the current install to see if anything is missing maybe. idk.

I had a very similar problem - although I did get log files - and here's what fixed it for me:

I went to Steam/steamapps/common/SpaceEngine/cache/shaders/(your graphics card here) and removed all the .bin files in it. Then I launched Space Engine. The program created new files there and loaded normally.

The Problem is, we don't get any log files, nor cache files. We start the .exe ->
"The Application was Unable to Start Correctly (0xc000007b)"

We start SE with Steam -> 2 second bootup then then process ends abrupt.

Visual C++ 2015, OpenAL is installed, DirectX12 is installed, restart, reinstall, run as Admin etc. etc. etc.
We tried everything. EVERYTHING! Except to throw the PC out of the Window!

Day 3 now, and nobody has a solution for this..................

that folder is empty by default for me

\Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngine\cache contains nothing after a fresh download/instal

We all have the same issue and still no help. One guy talked about the headset. I have an USB connected headset, do you guys have the same?

But I can't belive that would be the problem. Especially since it doesn't work without the headset as well.
