Yes, press CTRL + "~" to hide some UI elements. Some parts of the UI like on the bottom and left/right you need to unpin. There are little circles you can click on to make these UI elements vanish and only appear on mouseover.
The default shortcut is a little awkward, as on my (UK) keyboard, there is no "~" key ("~" is Shift+"#")...

You can rebind it in the options anyway (but make sure to check that the key you want isn't already bound, it won't warn you about double bindings).

There's a full guide with pictures up already, it's here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1767807707

Yeah it's on a different key for me as well, but I figured I mention the "~" key since I assume most people have it on their keyboard. Took me a while to find the right key on my laptop though.

Also make sure to check out all the other keybindings and visuals you can change via the F4 menu. Especially the magnitude of stars which is nice for screenshots in space.

Here with 6.0 magnitude:

And with 10.0 magnitude

which can make a big difference depending on what look you are going for.

To take a screenshot without the GUI, just press F11, unless you're talking about using Steam's screenshot system.

I'm making videos and one thing that's really annoying is the countdown in the middle of the screen "Traveling:17.6" how can I get rid of that?

Press Crtl-~ to disable the HUD

when I use that combination of buttons it only changes "markers enable/disabled" I figured that is because I have UK keyboard and here we need to hit "shift#" to get "~". So I went to keys.cfg and changed it to more appropriate button "`". But now its just not doing anything. I don't get any confirming message on screen. I have all panels hidden the only thing that's visible it my target info panel but that's on the side and as I use ultrawide screen I can sacrifice the edges to render 1080

it would be great if I can just disable it in graphics settings in ESC menu. Could you please implement that?
Hovado_Lesni Feb 28, 2021 @ 4:32am
ok now I know why when I change it it wouldn't do anything. Every time I start the game the keys.cfg get re-writen by the game to default "ctrl-~"

Ok, So I turn the game back on, went to controls settings and changed the "ctrl-~" to "numpad-" and the problem is gone.
What an easy fix. Why did I not thought of this earlier?
Thank you for your time
