well that escalated quickly! LOL

FWIW im having alot more fun in EF than in FP....
so Kevin: dont ♥♥♥♥ it up! LOL

Same here, man. The grind, level limitations and poor fighting mechanics r 3 aspects I really hate about FP, IMO EF is more of a simulator. I don't think EF is perfect tho, it has its own problems and maybe catching the same fish multiple times in a session is something that needs to be addressed asap, maybe remove the fish from the map when someone catch them? Other than that, this game has amazing fighting mechanics, I also think big fish should fight more before giving up, with these amazing fighting mechanics, it wont be boring to fight them.

I see a lot of people complaining about the net, I havent had many troubles landing fish after I got used to it, but yea, it needs some tweaking aswel, sometimes my guy won't move it towards the fish and it made me lose many of them when I started playing.
kirisute 2015 年 11 月 6 日 上午 2:21
the net mechanics are awful TBH.
but ive figured it out..just use A-D to move it left and right then press W to catch your fish...the basic issue is with the graphics glitching when your using the net...its just all out of sync and not working as it should....
i think the actual landing net mechnics are correct but the graphics dont match the mechanics

neither of them are perfect;
in fact being brutally honest...both of them are pretty f'ing far from perfect!!
Euro:
plus:
nice graphics
free roam
better fish fighting
more intuitive mouse/keyboard controls
better fish location and fish sign

negative:
stuck with ledger rigs/fishing (no float fishing)
awful landing net system
very tough to cast accurately consistently
fish possibly too easy to catch
glitchy in various locations both graphically and mechanically
fish XP way too low
no STRIKE!! really? designed by carp boys for carp boys :(

FP:
plus:
nice casting mechanisms (though the accurate system is way off)
water dynamics and rod dynamics are good
lots of tackle inc floats and spinning etc
float fishing is great fun with good bite indications
depth settings

negatives:
obviously Americanised (floats are like marker bouys)
awful scaling on the float system..in fact no matter how far you cast the "bobber" is always the same size!!
locked fishing locations with limited movement
no decent fish signs
poor landing mechanics with no decent photo op for caught fish
pay to play (possibly pay to win) game mechanics (yes you can catch and earn but its a long slow process)
no sense of lake bed or weed beds etc

Negatives for both:
limited tackle and rigs
no way of feeding (Euro has spodding buts its essentially limited and severely hampered by the casting mechanics) BOTH need hand feeding/ catapult feed with particles
both have poor fish landing mechanics
no underwater views on either
they are BOTH limited in their design: Euro is clearly designed by "carp boys" hence the Korda sponsorship etc...that means the waggler fishing, standard ledger, pole fishing, surface fishing etc that course fishing is full of...is utterly ignored.
FP is clearly americanised: bobbers, baits, spinning and locations are not European, as are the species...

so enither is perfect...to be honest i "hope" Euro will start to bring in true course fishing techniques and tackle..wagglers, pole fishing, feeding with catapult etc

as a gut call id say Euro is going to be the better game and i have had far more enjoyment with it. it reamins to be seen if the devs will produce the goods or not.
i totally agree with these comments and would just like to add both games are ok but could be much better if the devs listen to the people that play them and try to make to needed changes :),as for euro i would like to see some interaction with the equipment too ,ie being able to sit in your chair or at your bivvy, also catapult, and having no STRIKE seems quite strange every fish needs a strike

Yep, agree with that.

I have played both, but keep on coming back to Euro Fishing over FP as it has been more fun for me and seems to have the greater potential, however not to say I dislike FP as I will be going to back to that to.

We haven't had fishing games in a very long time, so I want to see more, not less and didn't doesn't have to be just one.

Please grow up people, the more the merrier and also better for everyone.

pay to play is there for the devs to make extra money!
fool yourself all you wish..but the game is tied to a mechanic that promotes paying to play.
if you wish to "grind" to earn the extra gear then thats fair enough...but the game is based around a pay to play concept. The devs will happily tell you you can earn everything in game...and you can! but the mechnics DO NOT promote that! they promote paying to play!
species missions, extra locations and licneces to fish for specific species are designed for one thing and one thing only: to get the player to part with extra cash!

Euro fishing is being based around what would appear to be a DLC mechanic: they will offer dlc for extra lakes, species, tackle set ups and you will pay to obtain them and use them indefinelty.

FP is similar to The Hunter in its mechanics: buying licences etc and you only have the read the huge backlash against The Hunter (which i beta tested from its very beginings (long before it was on steam) and have now left because of this very reason) to understand why this mechnic in a game isnt best for the consumer.

does it change how the game plays or whether its good or not? no it doesnt..but it will certainly effect who might wish to play that game compared to Euro!

Thanks this helps out a ton with which to side with I had originally bought EF and it was later that I heard about FP I had played Hunter too for a while but the fact that the licenses you buy in that game have a time limit is frustrating, don't know if FP is like that or not, and may still try it but I've been mainly focusing on EF
Trentscousin 2016 年 1 月 22 日 下午 6:37
It really boils down to this.....FP is "The Hunter" set in a body of water, it is ever MORE P2W as well.

The ONLY thing I kind like more about FP is the fish graphics (just my OP).

I have hopes eventually, Euro Fishing will give me a shot at Trout Fly Fishing (I can dream can I not?).:steamhappy:

PS I gave up on "The Hunter" once I figured out you cannot get the best game until you have spent the most time (Money is Time Compressed).
Cyber_Chupacabra 2016 年 1 月 22 日 下午 11:17
I have more than 200h in FP and I did not had to pay ONCE and I got all the fish species and unlocked almost all stuff.
Its absolutely not P2W, its pay to fast your progress if anything.
And you cant even buy "gold" and gold baits with real money so nope, nothing p2w :)

why all this discussing about which one is better?
soem ppl like oranges over apples for others its the other way round.
the games are basically very different..and that is a good thing.
the best use of forums like these is in my opinion to help each other with problems and have
a better game experience.
i find it sad to see such a lot of haggling and sometimes even hateposts...but that ofcourse says all
about the poster.
tight lines all.

ive had my eye on this game for a long time but still cant make my mind up if im going to get it or not atm but its still in my sights lol :D the main thing that puts me off is the casting method but i have just seen a post that there going to implament a 2nd method which has made me more intrested as irl im a uk carp angler. i also see people mention that new lakes ect on ef will be dlc(i dont like this fact either) you have to pay for the game so why do you have to pay to add more lakes.and this is somthing i do realy like about fp is the fact that every thing is free but if you like the game you can buy premium to suport it and i do have a years worth atm.
why couldnt ef just charge more in the begining and do away with the dlc lakes ect i would have no problems with paying £35-£50 for a game aslong as it wasnt going to milk every future venue it adds.all that said im still watching this and maybe when the casting is changed i might try it.
this isnt a bash at either game cos there both compleatly different
wim1234 2016 年 1 月 24 日 上午 3:12
i did see a post about implementing an easier cast method, so its coming.
also, you cannot expect to have free addons, come on peeps, whats wrong with you.
i woudl be willing to pay for good additional lakes, if reasonably priced, menaing not like trainsim

Wrong. Fishing Planet is a true FTP game The Hunter is not.

I like all three of these games. The Hunter is very expensive to play and enjoy. Fishing Planet you can experience everything for free you just have to put the time in. The only thing behind a paywall is a few seasonal skins.

I haven't played this game much since I game in a reclining chair with a mousepad on the armrest. The casting is very awkward for me.

When there is competition we gamers win so I'm overall happy to see both games.

This is funny. Do you know how FTP games work? The Hunter is Pay to Play to experience the whole game. You can experience everything in Fishing Planet for free accept a few seasonal skins. Yes it will take you longer to see the whole game for free but that is how FTP works.

How is it P2W? Yes you can buy premium time to speed up your advancement but that's not P2W. You pay nothing for the game.

In The Hunter you need real money to buy weapons equipment and to be able to hunt every species and reserve. Again everything is free in Fishing Planet so actually research before making comparisons

I prefer EU fishing. Why?
-no tiny spawn points for fishies - you don't cast mindlessly into the same place all the time.
-You can walk around the lake and cast from wherever you want.
I like both games but at the moment I`m done with FP due to the boring tiny spawn points and terrible grind.
agree

Hello Alaura,

While we welcome all constructive feedback, positive or negative, we do ask that you keep your posts family-friendly and useful.

It is your right to dislike the idea of Euro Fishing, but we do ask that you remain civil and helpful in explaining why you dislike a game you haven't purchased.

Thanks,

Kevin
Dislike, I entirely hate your franchise in its whole, the big scamming thing your doing with like, all the train dlc, the flight simulator dlc, and eventually thing game, is pissing me the ♥♥♥♥ off, delete this thread, do as your please, but know this, eventually you will die, and ill be laughing my ass off at your farming mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

' no STRIKE seems quite strange every fish needs a strike' like HARDasNAIL5 claims is not totally true!
In carpfishing you can use a bolt-rig system where the carp hooks himself.
you only have to pick up the rod and a sharp hook in combination of the 'stop the fish' resistance you create will set the hook properly.
