If you are looking for a similar game that supports 4 players, try: Son of a Witch.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/539400/Son_of_a_Witch/
Son of a Witch has much more depth than both RK and LK. 20+ bosses, magic spells and items similar to RK but more variety - and ranged combat.
You are right it isn't just beat em up, tough. The core mechanic is more like The Binding of Isaac.
The Steam stats don't show, but I've got over 250 hours in both RK and Son of a Witch and I can tell you the games feel very similar. The Endless Arena in SW is just as crazy as Endless mode in RK, if not more. At arena levels 200+ all regular enemies become bosses. It's nuts.
