[bug] Black screen upon starting the game.

Hey.

I just purchased the game, but i can't get it to work.
Whenever i start the game up, it forces me into a black screen (Cursor and music are playing).
There is no way to exit the screen, as no key combinations such as alt f4 work.
A hard reset is required to get back to my desktop.
Anyone knows a way to fix this?

Gosh, I'm sorry that's happening.

Few questions.

What are the specs of your computer and what OS?

Are you running steam as an admin, or any issues with your anti-virus? Have you verified the local files yet through steam?

-Windows 7 (64 bit)
-AMD Radeon HD 6800 series
-i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz
-8gb RAM

Screen resolution for game window tried at 1920x1080 and 800x600

Are these tablets?

The game launcher window at v1.04 is forcing a windowed mode with a tiny resolution. I'm wondering if your particular device does not allow windowed apps?

If i understand your question correctly: No, I'm not using a tablet(?) I'm using a standard computer with windows 7.

Same, no tablet, stationary pc with windows 7 (64bit)

And if I understand it correctly the window mode that starts up is in the 400x500 resolution? found it in one of the defaultconfig files

Yep. Weird how it's taking you guys so long to develop a fix for this bug, as it seems to be occuring to a lot of people that paid for your game.

sometime for this type of problem, for some people, when they put the .exe of the game in a compatibility mode for other windows like "windowx XP" by example, it's correct the problem..., it's not the best for for a temporary fix it's can help, but on my side i cannot try it because the game start well, so i don't know if it's can work...

Thanks for the suggestion, buddy. Only problem is that I don't wanna mess up my computer trying it, fixing the black screen will require yet another hard reset :l

Devs, any update on this issue??? :/ seeing long posts on other bugs/issues and this issue doesn't seem to get much (viewable) attention from you guys? Still keeping my hopes up cuz the game looks awesome

Keep heart folks, the devs have not left you in the cold. They are working on Bug fixes so, heres to hoping one of those fixes will resolve this issue!

Yea that's what i'm hoping, this bug must be quite a tricky one for them to find, since they don't know how to duplicate the issue :S I'm glad i'm in my slope period of gaming mood right now and don't feel like playing anything :P Really hope the issue will be solved this year atleast ^-^
