Merchant Guild Quest Help
Heya.

I've been trying to get some progress done on the Merchant Guild quest, specifically I need to earn 5000 gold from adventurers, but it's been at 0/5000 for some time now without any indication of progress, despite plenty of services for adventurers and my income steadily coming in with the mbuying things etc.

Am I missing something? I need to tick that objective off so I can move on to any others it has to offer.

Another note, regarding Quick Quests. It seems some of the ideal combos for some quests require say 4 or 5 supplies, not all 6 to be filled. So for those I assume you cannot get a 'perfect' score for the supply side of that quest, as you have to put in a supply that does not belong there? Or is there a way to leave a supply slot 'blank'?

I'm pretty sure it only gives bonuses for having the right items, and having them in the right slots. No penalties for throwing any random item in to finish filling slots.

Ah thanks for that. Much appreciated.
I've recently installed the DLC Supply and Demand, so I've started a new save and see how things go with that.

Was doing well, in the lead for 4 years, but the moment it hits the 5th year, I lose my lead and look up my competition to find they have like 400-500k gold and here's me spending and building up and only with 7k or so lol. Adventurers have dwindled too, not as many visiting as they used to, despite having 48,454 popularity (I assume it's popularity).

Awesome little game but it's quite tricky figuring out how to set things up properly for best efficiency etc lol.

Ive noticed couple of my own quests arent updating either. Seems like its prolly bug related the dev has yet to work out. Dev has been keeping up fairly well with the game, but its an ongoing process ( :

That's very good to hear, quite an enjoyable game with lots of potential still ahead of it too I feel.

Is it possible to do more than one quick quest at a time? I feel like I'm missing something somewhere lol. I seem to top the competitors out in almost every score aside popularity towards the end, and gold which just rockets up to a crazy high gap after the 5th year and I've never been able to catch up.

Definitely missing something lol, or I'm not setting up my town efficiently for the adventurers to stick around and spend more. I believe it may be due to being too late in building a marketplace - probably has something to do with the vases and carpets you can buy and use on your stores?

Is there a way to upgrade structures like the lumbermill, mine, farm, smelteries and storages? For some of the kingdom level ups I think between 10-15 or so, you require a large amount of storage to meet the requirement to level up, and several of the same building to keep up with the maintenance costs. Would be handy if there was a way to upgrade them so you don't have to build as many, or perhaps research that increases the productivty of them etc.

Still, a very fun little game so far!

Agreed. Good game already but still has more potential especialy when some more bugs gets squashed.

As far as I know Quick Quests can only be done 1 at a time.

As for as gold & popularity goes...Ive maybe played like 4-6 hours or so lately & am currently at around lvl 12, with the new DLC so not 100% how it all ties together but think I have a decent idea. Depends on what difficulty youre playing too possibly. My current session Im doing normal difficulty/25 years & TBH seems a little too easy or unbalanced atm with the new production buildings. And thats where the golds at is production buildings.

Start by focusing mostly on buying gardens at the start of the game. Put down at least 2 gardens first few seconds you start the game. Sell that food every 5-10 seconds or so repeatedly over the course of a 1-2 mins or so.

Then buy 1 hero home & buy a decent hero with decent stats asap. Send them on quick quests repeatedly whilst doing other stuff in between with your gardens & kingdom. Always have hero on QQ w/e you can for additional income & to start increasing your other towns happiness.

Meanwhile keep focusing mostly on buying gardens for the next several minutes & then a silo or 2 to be able to hold that extra production otherwise it goes to waste. Keep selling your food constantly. If you got the right garden to silo ratio, you should be selling like literaly every 5 seconds or so. Having around 10 gardens & the silos to match before you start to then focus on really starting to build your kingdom is good. Youll also need that extra food coming in as you build anyway.

In case you dont know make sure when you do sell you hold Shift then click to sell all stock in bulk, since price goes down with each click, whether you sell 1 or 10 or all mats at a time.

Just keep selling your food repeatedly for the first several minutes of the game whilst starting to slowly build out & expand your kingdom, making sure to put down more gardens & silos as you go as needed. Its cheap to move those things later so doesnt matter where you put them.

You should also buy out the first 3-4 plots of land asap since those are very cheap at that stage of early game.

I didnt worry about market place or library till maybe around year 3-4 or so...but you do want to get those put down as soon as you can reasonably afford it. If you keep doing the garden & selling thing, then $ will be flowing in very quickly, like I said too much so tbh. it gets tedious after a while but it works very nicely. Eventually youll only have to sell your food every now & then for 1-2 mins in a row to get more gold for w/e...

vases & carpets I dont think really matter at least not so far in my game progress.

Thats about all you really need to make sure you get & keep good chunks of gold available at all times. Market is really best for buying blueprints. You dont wanna keep expanding land manualy after its costs like 64k gold. just keep checking market items like every 10 seconds or w/e for blueprints. Library helps to expand items allowed to be sold each time so get that researched soon.

Popularity idk that much tbh, never had to worry about it too much. Just make sure your villages are fairly happy by doing quick quests every now & then & make sure to put decorations down quite a bit. Make sure to put down all the lvl 1-5 or 6 shops kinda like how I did mine in the pics included. you can always check each NPCs wants/needs. Also Ive had a few bugs that seem to impact that stat so could be possible a bug for you too, or not.

And yeah good idea about the production buildings being upgradable. Something maybe the Dev might do later. Since the DLC was just recently released prolly a lot of things to be included yet. Maybe post that suggestion in the thread.

Wow, thank you very much for taking the time out to help and post that awesome amount of advice, extremely appreciated!

I'll start over again and give your advice a shot and see how it goes. I kinda like starting over a lot anyway lol.

Thanks again! Hope you have a nice Christmas and a happy new year! <3
