Broken Achievement: 50000

The achievement for getting 50000 or more points in Double Dragon 1 is broken. The achievement didn't pop once i hit 50000 on the 4th level as shortly after beating the green Abobo and a couple more guys after him. So I died intentionally afterwards to see if that would cause it to pop... Nope. My final final score was 60560 points and it still did not pop.

Same here. I wasn't able to get the achievement even though I scored way over 50k.

My pop up for me(all you have to do is simply die,and then its shows black screen with top score)and you have it.

i saw other players saying that when they finished the game again (on easy btw) this achievement pops. give a try :P

I was to level 3 and hadn't even reached 20k... I figured i wouldn't be able to get enough points.

When i did it was on easy. Just go slowly, abuse the elbow command (jump + punch) and then when the enemy knockdown, go to him and try to engage a knee smash sequence (just press kick).

Just go slowly, get one at a time. You will get it.

getting far enough isn't the problem. The problem is its all but impossible to get enough points on easy by abusing the elbow as its basically a one hit kill until the last level & the knee smash earns the same ammount as the elbow. About the only way to get enough points it is to finish off everyone with the uppercut.

You're right Kenshiro. Sorry for messing things up.

What I said to you (slowly, easy diff, elbow+kick) was the way to get the Invincible achievement (finish a level without get hit). Sorry.

Right Now, I've made a run to 50K and finished the game with 62k on ORIGINAL difficult. My best mark on Original is 83k. It can be done .

I'm actually an EXTREMELY old hand at this game. Been playing it since it came out. And I know how to cheese this game. I also know to take it slow. It is TECHNICALLY possible to get the achievementy on easy. The problem is the requirements are so prohibitively steep that practically speaking it's impossible and actually HARDER to do than if you were you were to play the game on medium.

As other posters have said, this one you can only get if you beat the game.
The problem is just that the achievement is poorly worded. IMO the DANs are confusing/poorly worded also.
Once you've gotten 50k though feel free to just beat it any way you can and it should ding for you.

so basically you gotta beat the game without continuing? K Then. This is gonna be a challenge. That said nowhere NEAR as challenging as beating NES Double Dragon 3 without Game Genie... something I consider one of my crowning gaming achievements. :)
