Double Dragon Trilogy

Double Dragon Trilogy

the animation in double dragon III ?
While the first two double dragon games seem to work without issues, the third one seems to have really choppy animation , and stage announcements and endings seem to be in turbo mode, is this an issue that other people have found, and if so, is there a possible fix for it at the moment?

actually, its a horribly programmed & animated game.
You may get some smoother play using MAME or MESS.

It seems so! I used to play this back in the day on my megadrive/Genesis (although I memorised the NES version way better) and it ran pretty well, so yeah, something went wrong in this game.

i can't get over the fact that if you run at the right side with the scrolling screen it seems totaly smooth.

As far as I remember, the arcade version of DD3 was always like that...

Yeah, evidently the problems with DD3's choppiness goes back to the original arcade. This trilogy is meant to be low-priced legal emulations of the arcade games with Steam features, so I don't see any easy fix for this if it's how the original DD3 arcade was programmed.

The Game Gear Double Dragon had the same choppy character movements, and also the quirk that you moved smoothly only when scrolling the screen.

Lol nope. That's just how the game is. This is part of why its so infamous & reviled by fans.

At least the first 2 games make up for the mess this one is lol.
I skip this at all costs cause its a horrible mess of a game with terrible animations choppy to no end.
Glad the first and second game work great :)!

thanks for the responses, glad it isnt my computer being weird, even though it is disappointing it runs so crappily. Agreed with Viruss though the first and second game were my money's worth , cant wait to play through them with a friend upcoming weekend.

Nah, it's the same Emulated. That's just how the game is. If anything, this version eliminates extra slowdown.

Double Dragon III is simply a terrible game, and a blatant quarter muncher in the arcades. I like to pretend it doesn't exist. The NES version was FAR superior.

Indeed. Also since when did munch3r become profanity?

I can see why now, I used to hate Double Dragon 3 on the NES (well, hate mostly for the difficulty when I was younger) , but I'd play it over the piece of ♥♥♥♥ on this collection any day now I look at it with older eyes.

DD 3 on the NES was a blast IMO. My cousin and I would rent the game almost every weekend (we didn't get new games often).

I use to play it all the time as well. I use to be able to beat it... on single player, no game genie.
