Best Team?
Hello, played about half a dozen games. I see team descriptions, but was wondering if anyone felt a particular team was overpowered in any way? Also, have you found an MVP who dominates?

PS Thank you to devs for posting FAQ how to have P1 Controller P2 Keyboard. Crucial. Thanks for making a new Bad News Baseball.

Hey,

Here[supermegabaseball.com] is a bit of ammo for you guys to figure this one out ;) (Check out the full team stats spreadsheet, it won't let me link to it directly because of the word-filter :/ )

Man, I hate going up against Moonstar pitching. Had to face Sauder twice in a 4-game stretch and was lucky to get out of those games with a split.

I'm partial to the Overdogs, personally. Balanced 1-6 and a couple high-power, high-mojo bats on the bench for late game substitutions. Lots of speed too for turning singles into doubles and doubles into triples.

Best position player in the game, IMO, is either Beefcake McStevens (Platypi) or Hammer Longballo (Sirloins). Longballo doesn't really have a weakness.

I'm doing pretty well with the Herbisaurs. They're a "defensive" team, but there's some decent power through the lineup. Not much speed, but I have two or three fairly quick players. The starting pitchers and closer are good, but the middle relievers are mediocre.

MOOSE!

All power all the time, lovin' it.

Crocodons look a formidible team, played two seperate season modes and they were nearly unbeaten in both when AI was in control.

I'm in a season at 39 ego, as the Blowfish, and I CANNOT seem to beat the Sirloins, no matter what I do. Drives me F***ing nuts.

Sirloins just beat me at Ego 75 using the Blowfish. It was a 1 run game too. Power is a big advantage. Last season I used the Crocodons and was cleaning up at an average of 68 ego. Their pitching is pretty solid vs just about anyone. I think I lost 1 and quit another game. I forget who I lost to.

I haven't used all my staff contracts as of yet though so that's a big short fall. There are few stylists available to me yet and I need more gear suppliers to juice up the Blowfish. Their pitching is pretty sad after using the Crocodons.

On my second season with the Moose...just seems like a good solid team.
Plus the logo reminds me of Bullwinkle when I was a kid :)

So everyone are saying a different team, so it's just a personal preference?
nzgunner Jan 13, 2016 @ 12:45am
my own experience is that it is easier to compensate for weaker pitching and fielding than it is for weaker hitting - hence my preference for teams like the Sirloins

without power, batting at 65 ego is a lot more demanding (at least for me)

it seems to me that no matter how good your pitcher is, there's at least one inning where he's gonna give up base hits and/or homers - with the AI batters hitting pitches right in the corners or even well out of the zone

Wideloads and sirloins for life!!! Big fat hitting is awesome!

Which one is the best? I choose Sirloins all the time because of the "Super" in the big hitter, like one is big hitter and the other team is called Super big hitter or something.

Not sure if both are similar or Sirloins is actually even more powerful hitters.

Yeah I tend to get really attached to the characters and enjoy the flavor of the game. I don't really focus on the statistics. I feel like the wideloads were more well rounded with a weaker 7th/8th batter. Sirloins are about the same but they just have one or two guys that are crazy in all batting statistics. But they are fat slow ♥♥♥♥♥.
