Throwing to the correct base?
I seem to be having a really hard time with this. I've read the "how to play" stuff, but it isn't real clear on what to do.

i play via mouse and keyboard. I can always switch over, but before I do, just want to know if anyone can tell me how the hell i field a ball, then throw to 3rd, for example, intentionally, rather than having the ball get thrown to 1st.

any help is greatly appreciated.

To throw to a specific base, move the mouse slightly in the direction of the base you want to throw to (i.e. left for 3rd base), you'll see the base that's currently selected in blue - and then left click to throw.

So you're probably missing the mouse movement portion, so just pay attention to the base that's highlighted in blue in the bases overlay - that'll tell you where you're about to throw.

Popoki,

Thanks for the feedback sir.

For the record, has to be, in the oddest of blends I've ever known, the most realistic, yet hilarious, sports game ever!

That said, is there a way to assign keys to base throws; you know, the old WSDA thing (I am too retarded to know if that is the correct acronym),

If not, no biggie. was just curious.

Btw, I am an audio engineer, songwriter, and voice actor, if you guys would like to give me a shot at any future releases. I own my own studio as well, and have been recording for about 30 years.

You can check me out at www.stayathomedaddyaudio.com if you want to hear some voice samples.

Thanks again for the reply.

Very glad to hear that! No, the game doesn't have any way of rebinding keys unfortunately. And sweet, we'll check it out!

oh, one more thing...I'm having huge problems with base running; meaning, i have no idea how to do it correctly if i have more than one guy on base. Is there a hotkey for selecting the base, or maybe the same as the throw thing? I'll try that right now, but hit me back if you could.

Ok, ...

I love this game, and hope to see more great stuff like this from you guys!

With that said, I have never, ever, having played sports games since we lived in oceans, and have never heard of a baseball game that didn't realize that the 4 buttons on a controller can be an easier way to throw to the base you desire.

Always been one of my favorite things about baseball games.

Now, to your credit, if this was intentional to make things more organic, or realistic in throwing, then I admire it, and if I know that, I won't worry about it anymore.

Would love to hear back on this.
Thanks!

To tomatoes.dll, STRONGLY consider playing with a joystick. I'm not trying to be judgy, but if you've got your own recording studio, you are in as good a position as any to splurge $20, perhaps, and improve ALL your pc gaming experiences. Just a basic PS/XBOX style, wired, is more than enough. If you've ever played another baseball game in the past, which it sounds you may have, it'll be like riding a bike. The only "different" thing that strikes me from most console games, is that you use B,Y,X,A to throw to first, second, third and home, rather than the directional pad and A. Do it, start a season, and incrementally increase EGO as you level, it's a fun journey. You will eventual hit a wall, I did around EGO 78. Have fun!

i have a number of controllers. steam thing, joystick, others...

i'm just wondering why i can't press a key to choose a base to which to throw directly without use of my feeling of "did i swipe, pull, push, rub, whatever in the proper direction.

one of the things I believe video games need to always consider:

any game, based on a sport particularly, needs to remember that, for instance in this case, regarding baseball, is that we don't have to think to know where we are throwing, so a button would be more realistic.

instantaneous, like anyone actually playing ball in RL.

The controller is not the issue. I think the game should simply make it possible to hit a button and throw to a base, which would be as fast as i would in the real world, since i was like 9. haha

Fair enough. I did indeed try the game mouse/keys to start. I was intrigued, but found it impossible to have the level of control I was used to in prior played baseball games. It's actually the reason I purchased another PC controller, years after my last had ceased to function. Would suggest you try it with one of your gamepad options. Tried the same thing with Rocket League. Can you play it mouse/keys? Sure? Will you be awesome? Odds are against you. I love the hell out of this game, and am playing on such a crap computer that I cannot run SMB 2, or I'd have migrated over to the sequel. I simply think you'd get the most out of your purchase by giving what most would considered the preferred control style a chance.
