Contact swing - batter doesnt swing

Hi,
I just got the game and played a bit already. One thing that I don't understand yet:
Sometimes one of my batters doesn't want to swing when I use the contact swing (A on the xbox controller that I use). He moves the bat a bit but then hesitates to swing.
Is this because of some condition that my batter is in, or is it maybe a bug?

Help or an explanation is very much appreciated!

If you tap "A" the batter will do a check swing (start to swing, then stop). Make sure you press and HOLD the A button for a bit to make the batter swing. Hope this helps.

thanks, but I made sure that I held the button, so this is not the solution. I figured, that the batter would not power swing either, when the problem occurs.

This happens once or twice over 9 innings. The animation looks like, as if he swings halfway.

just an update about the problem (solved):

I found out that the game registers very small movements of the right analogue stick, even in the mechanical "deadzone" of the stick.

The problem occurs, when the stick is slightly pushed backwards. A touch of the stick towards the front solves the problem.

Glad you figured it out! Yup, you could also swing with the stick so if that was moving slightly, it could cause a check swing :-)
