Abbreviations for Positions

So what does SP, RP and CP stand for? Just got the game and not for sure on these 3

Starting Pitcher, Relief Pitcher and Closer (Pitcher). SP's start games and can usually pitch multiple innings, whereas RP's and the CP get tired much faster. Hope this helps.

yep. Starting pitchers start games, relief pitchers close gaps, and a closer usually throws at inning 8 or 9 to finish the game when other pitchers are tired/unstable/etc, and closing pitchers usually only pitch while ahead "closing" the game. If they are succesfull, thats called a save.
