Jogo possui um dificuldade artificial a mesma presente nos arcades, e como uma empresa vai lançar port para PC e não tem a configuração de resolução de tela?! Jogo possui ótima arte, mas devido a essa burrice da empresa estragou tudo. Mecânica razoável, dificuldade do jogo é injusta e principalmente no modo historia, e se você é iniciante em jogo de luta esqueça esse jogo. 60FPS bem mentirosos, a queda de frames e não tem logica o jogo ter vários recursos para melhorar o jogo se não pode mudar resolução?! Serio! Que babaquice, Full Screen mode true colors, Synchronize with V-sync, Pixel Shader ON e não muda nada o jogo sempre ficara serrilhado do mesmo jeito graça a estupidez ou preguiça dos desenvolvedores. A unica coisa boa do jogo é multiplayer local ( Não vale contar a multiplayer online que foi disponibilizadas devido à patchs criadas por fãs, não é conteúdo original do jogo) e a trilha sonora que é o ponto mais forte do jogos, tem um porém, as vezes jogo fica sem musica em alguns rounds e depois volta sem explicação. Alguns personagens são bem estilosos e cativantes, porém outros bem bizarros. O "#reload" é propaganda enganosa, vale mais apena compra o port do PS2 ou Xbox, porque o jogo para PC foi baseado no jogo do PS2. E mais valido jogar o game em controle do PS2 do que em um controle do Xbox 360, o jogo foi originalmente lançado em 2002 para arcades a versão que eu joguei e gostei, comprei ele iludido pensando que seria até similar aos arcades, não tinha visto nada presente sobre esses erros. Se você é muito fã da serie compre em promoção porque o jogo não vale o preço cheio oferecido na Steam.

buy xx accent core instead, its the final update/definitive edition of this game + this game maxes out at about 10 people online with or without the netplay mod. i was stupid when i bought this because i didnt realise how this series worked originally

There is absolutely no reason to buy this game since the port is not changed in any way comparing with the build from 2006. Esc button still throws you out of the game as soon as pressed. Same with F12 - no screenshots till you change the button in Steam settings.

This version CAN be patched to play online, however I am not sure how well it works so try it yourself. Hopefully devs will move the patch into the main game so people won't have to do anything aside from clicking 'Install' on Steam.

On the bright side - the soundtrack is shipped with the game and it is awesome (in the game folder).

If you want to play online with fixes - just find the Japanese version on the internet and patch it. This one is not worth the money at the moment.

Classic, but rather meaningless to buy nowadays unless there's specifically something about the Story mode tied to this game that you wanted to see. It might be worth if you can get it for dirt cheap and want to try out how an X2 generation game feels before buying Accent Core +R, but honestly I would just say save up for AC+R all the way since there is a lack of controller support here that AC+R doesn't have issues with and AC+R actually has players online currently.

i like the game but i can't recommend this port.
first time i played it after installing i was able to play perfectly fine, controller and keyboard. after coming back later that day, and the game no longer detected either my controller or my keyboard. in fact the only thing i could do was exit the game. after an hour of trying to figure out what was wrong and testing, i decided to give up for that day. i came back to it today, and it still did not work.
if you still wanna play it on your pc, id recommend using an emulator.

I'm in no way qualified to review this as a fighting game- I'm a total newcomer to the genre (outside of button-mashing and incredibly mediocre Soul Calibur skills), so I trust those who rate the series highly.

What I do want to warn potential buyers of is that outside of technical fundamentals (the framerate is rock-solid and the game is responsive and looks as good as you'd expect), this is the most bare-bones port imaginable. The problems:

*no support for higher resolutions, or a fullscreen window
*no subtitles for the extensive in-game spoken Japanese (and at least two characters' names on the select screen are in untranslated kanji)
*a wonky menu system (be aware that "quit" simply returns you to the splash screen; the escape key, on the other hand, immediately shuts down the game regardless of where you are)
*bizarre default key bindings (while it's easy to figure out that Space acts as "start," you'll need to hit, for some reason, the U key to select menu options)
*following on from that, far more fiddling than necessary to make an Xbox pad usable- you can get through most of it with the Joy2pad-looking interface in the game's setup utility, but be aware that the setup program won't recognize input from the left and triggers, which have to be bound manually as 1ZMIN and 1ZMAX respectively
*and following on from that, the in-game key binding screen is worse than useless, since it only displays Playstation inputs (circle, X, triangle, square) and the player is left to find on their own which arbitrary keys these have been assigned to

I have no doubt I'll be able to enjoy it eventually, but hopefully this review will others make a purchasing decision or get the game to work properly after buying it.

Very limited PC settings, joypad setup is a pain without using Steam's controller setup, no online multiplayer, etc.

I want to be clear that this is NOT a bad game. It's a somewhat old PC port that is most definitely succeeded by accent core plus. Check out that game on steam as it has most of the bells and whistles compared to this.

I am glad they didn't pull this game as I hate when publishers pull games when newer versions come out. Just know that this version is fairly lacking compared to anything you would find nowadays.

If you don't care about any of that, there is still a VERY competent fighter here for you to play.

The game is good, but the port is bad.

Controller support seems very busted. Even if you force steam to disable any controller input on it's end (effectively telling steam to get out of the way and not hijack controllers), the mappings are still a mess and trying to map an Xbox One pad to this game manually is still not possible. The L2 and R2 triggers dont detect, nor does the d-pad. Playing with an analog stick is not good. This may all be fixable by using a third party input dll but I don't care.

Besides that, the game is going to force 640x480 which comes with many issues on modern machines.

I'm a huge fan of the original GGX on Dreamcast but these days you're far better off getting one of the GG Xrd games, or even the brand new GG Strive.

This game is totally fun. You can play it online with mods. You'll also need to customize the controller options outside the game to get your controller working properly inside the game. This game is completely fine. The only reason I don't recommend it is because Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R exists on Steam. It has more characters, gives all characters more moves, has way more character costumes, has better controller support, built-in online play, better widescreen accommodations, and only costs a little more to purchase. If you're looking to play an old-school 2D Guilty Gear fighter, go with Accent Core Plus R.
