This one worth playing or skipping?
Is there a live playerbase for this version or would I be better off jumping straight to Accent Plus R?

This one doesn't even has online (or at least not officially... it's complicated) but it's still worth it if you're in for the story (since Accent Core has a different storyline).

You play BlazeBlue as well? Was thinking about trying CentralFiction while it is on sale.

BlazBlue Centralfiction is excellent but it's a terrible entrypoint if you're in for the story since it's the last mainline game. I'd still recommend it and the series as a whole though.
