Hey, you're Australian! I'm the owner of the Guilty Gear X2 #Reload Netplay Oceania group. Feel free to join, I can teach you the basics over the netplay mod!
If you're a null I'd suggest trying slayer's cheap tactics.
- Potemkin, his potemkin buster is cheap move to win.
- Johny is another slow character, but he is rely to much with his coin. I have hard time for use him also :p
Since you asked other slow character from another game, here is my recommendation:
- Blazblue: Hakumen, Tager
- KOF XIII: Daimon, Clark, Raiden
So, well, he's not as stiff as potemkin (still the command dash cancel grants you great horizontal speed when needed) or johnny, which is probably the character with the worst mobility ingame, but sure it's one of the slowest characters on the roster.
In reload is also one of the easiest character to play with (not to mention he's somewhere A tier) so I'd still full recommend him to the OP. Second choice probably potemkin.
Sol is another easy character to learn, but he is definitely not slow.
