What are some slow-strong characters?
I'm pretty new to fighting games as a whole, and I utterly suck. But I know one thing. I like slow yet powerful weapons in games, and I'd assume this would translate into fighting games.

What are some slow, yet powerful characters in this game?

Also, suggestions for other fighting game slow/powerful characters are also appreciated. Characters for stuff like King of Fighters (both steam versions), street fighter, Blazblue, skullgirls, MK, and all that kind of stuff. I'd like to know.

Potemkin is a strong grappler character, and the only character I would truly consider "slow", but every character has fast movement options. Potemkin cannot run or airdash, but he can jump backwards and has a cancleable command dash. Slayer also cannot run, and instead teleports a short distance forwards and backwards.

Hey, you're Australian! I'm the owner of the Guilty Gear X2 #Reload Netplay Oceania group. Feel free to join, I can teach you the basics over the netplay mod!

I appreciate the offer, I might just take you up on that sometime. Though I'd like to be able to beat the bots in skullgirls on very easy difficulty first. Right now, I'm struggling just to beat the tutorial. I'm THAT bad. Took me 2 hours to get 80% of the way through, same with the MK9 tutorial. 2 hours man.

I'd say Potemkin and maybe Johnny because he can't run (only dash)

Slayer has great mobility and his moves deal a lot of damage, potemkin has a lot of defense but to be able to properly move you have to learn how to command dash + cancel.

If you're a null I'd suggest trying slayer's cheap tactics.
Slayer is not slow, he is very fast. For me slow-strong character are:
- Potemkin, his potemkin buster is cheap move to win.
- Johny is another slow character, but he is rely to much with his coin. I have hard time for use him also :p

Since you asked other slow character from another game, here is my recommendation:
- Blazblue: Hakumen, Tager
- KOF XIII: Daimon, Clark, Raiden

I don't think slayer is fast: he can't run and his moves are usually one-hit medium-speed life-wreking ones.

So, well, he's not as stiff as potemkin (still the command dash cancel grants you great horizontal speed when needed) or johnny, which is probably the character with the worst mobility ingame, but sure it's one of the slowest characters on the roster.

In reload is also one of the easiest character to play with (not to mention he's somewhere A tier) so I'd still full recommend him to the OP. Second choice probably potemkin.
I agree if you recommend Slayer for newbie. Above average hit point, devastating combo, have several move to confuse human opponents such as dandy step and his "teleport dash" have decent invincibility frames + can quickly get Slayer behind his opponent.

Sol is another easy character to learn, but he is definitely not slow.
