The achievement for blowing pages did trigger for me while I was not even noticing them. On the other hand, I blowed up all the blue papers in chapter three and the achievement did not trigger.
The achievement for finishing chapter three didn't unlock at all.
The achievements for beating a whole chapter without deaths are just unfair :P
Same here, I did not get this one upon arriving at chapter 4 (and thus finishing chapter 3). I've also gotten a few I shouldn't have got, so achievement tracking definitely seems a bit off
As I see it, every achievement that is irritatingly broken should trigger at the end of chapter three. Could be it's one line of code to fix.
I'm William John Holly, the programmer for See No Evil. Now, at the time that I created the game with Noetic I was just a contracted employee whose contract wore off really soon after achievements had first been implemented. This was kind of a time and money thing that I won't go too far into, but my contract was always only supposed to only last a certain amount of time and after that I became a free agent, despite still contributing a couple small updates after my contract had lifted.
Now, there's been some somewhat frustrating and complex issues that keeps the main team at Noetic from addressing programming issues themselves (most likely because I was the only programmer for SNE, making it very difficult and expensive for another guy to jump in and immediately find out where the issue could be coming from). While I'm not part of any See No Evil team in any official capacity anymore, I still have a stake in the game and it is my responsibility if there are issues with the coding.
Now, after my contract was released, I immediately took a full time position at another company and find myself really strapped for time; however, I have a period of time coming up soon where I might have some moments where I can review the 1.5 year old source files and try to find a solution to this problem. This can't be a promise that I can fix the problem soon, but I do want to make the promise that I will risk my health losing sleep fixing up the source code and helping Noetic to release an update that fixes all of the issues that you are having.
I want to make the following very clear: Noetic, as a company and as developers, are in a situation where they can not fix this issue themselves and that is my own fault. I'm really sorry that this issue exists and that it has existed so long with so little communication from myself. The burden of this task originated in my hastiness and it falls solely on my shoulders.
I'll be subscribing to this thread and will keep all of you updated when I have time to hammer out this problem. Typing fast is one of my gifts, so if you leave any further comments about when or how this glitch (or others for that matter) appears, please let me know so I can get everything ready in one update. It's no exaggeration when I say that I'm really strapped for time, so getting everything in at once is the best policy for now.
Thank you all for your patience, your active participation in the betterment of See No Evil, and hopefully your understanding as I try my best to do right by all of you. I owe you this.
-John, Programmer of See No Evil
TL;DR: I'm the programmer responsible for the programming side of SNE and I'm going to find time to fix the bugs you brought up. Thank you!
Could you please update us on your progress and an ETA on your next patch release ?
But again, I did not recieve achievements. Notably, I apparantly won the game without finishing Chapter 3!!! Truly impressive...
