Need help escaping monster
I need help please. It is escaping this monster. I turn around and run but it is never enough and I annot get back to the blue lantern to plot the next move. Is there anyone that can help me?

Does anyone know how to get away from this monster?

After the monster gets spawned, when you regain control over your movement, turn around and run back. You will see three paths before you. The trick is to lure the monster(s) into one of those paths, and run back to through the other path to the corridor where the monster spawned.

Note that there are usually two monsters getting spawned, so try to account for both.

Going back to the blue obelisk seems logical, but won't help. The monsters will simply follow you there and catch you.

As long as you run, you are faster than the monsters. What worked for me (and apparently also for others) is to not run the entire time, but stop and look back to make sure that the monster follows you into the path. Once you have lured the monsters into one or two of the paths, you know that the third path will be safe, so use that one to run back.

By the method I posted above. It has so far worked for everyone I recommended it to, and I think the two or three walkthroughs use the same method.

If it's not working for you, try to describe what you are doing and what is happening, that would make it easier to analyze the problem.

Hello, I had escaped the monster by hidding me, you can see it in this video at 13:30 https://youtu.be/V3DFBG-bnu0

Interesting how oblivious the monsters are to your position when you're crouched, that looks like a pretty safe method to lure the monsters out!

I checked some older threads, and the only other suggested method I found was to "run in a great wide circle", but I don't think that will always work. Your suggestions sounds more promising to me.Fingers crossed that it helps the OP. :)

This section is by far the game-killer for me. I've been really enjoying it up to this point (and streaming it) but this is an incredibly frustrating timing exercise which is totally contrary to everything else in the game up to this point (plus it's not remotely obvious that you have to lure the monsters out in the first place).

I've tried about 10 times and done everything suggested here and still can't get past them. If I can't do that then that's the end of the stream and the game for me. But seriously, this secton needs to be changed. It's awful.

Ugh. Well the only way I got past that bit was by doing the crouching trick in the video posted above. Not sure if that's how it was intended to be solved, but it worked for me.

It's rather disappointing. The game was doing pretty well for the first 2/3rds or so, but this section and the chase in the tunnels under the desert later on kinda ruined it for me.

It took me about fifteen tries (at least) but the "run in a great wide circle" method ultimately worked for me.

I was dreading this after hearing a mention of it prior to buying, but now find it curious that it took me only the second try to get through this section (just plain running, I maybe looked back once?) without any real attempt at planning except to "lure it down the corridor and then go back with the other" (I completely forgot there was a second one awakened in the cutscene) when it's presenting such a problem to others. :o

Agreed. I just played this bit, and it's lame beyond words. I'm a huge fan of the Outlast games, for example, so I'm certainly not averse to gameplay like this...but when it's this poorly executed, they were better off just leaving it out. Adds nothing to the game, unfortunately. (PS I managed to beat it on about my third or fourth attempt, but was lucky as much as anything. It really is poorly designed, and the monsters look stoopid beyond belief as they "chase" you.)

Thanks so much for this. I was finding it impossible to beat this chase even with the other videos, but I managed to cheese it by hiding behind that vase you pointed out.

I simple back off into one of the tunnels until I saw both monsters coming down that pathway and then I ran back into the other pathway to the exit. If you go into the middle pathway, another monster will be spawned in that room by the floating monster thingy.

None of those suggestions worked for me. The problem is that after the 'alien' appears and starts waking up the monsters, I can't get the character to run a full speed - it's like he's wading through mollasses.

I've basically given up. Any suggestions welcome, but as I said, none of the above methods have worked.
