- one with sparing the Legion (which was what made more sense to me in the first place, I don't know, something was off about it . It felt too much like Captain Ahab Shields vs Moby (Space Whale) Legion . And depending on how things go, it might be better for fighting the prototypes to have a "less fanatic" enemy like Fontana commanding PACT and having the LEGION available to fight this new menace
- the second killing it. The part of Ava sacrificing herself to fire the Vanguard cannon, even though a bit disturbing and scarring, was nicely written]. Problem here is that I'm really not sure if it's the best course of action, seeing we're going to have to deal with what looks to be a greater menace than PACT in the future, so I don't know if sinking the Legion is the best course of action, as we might need to team up for a little while to fight the prototypes. However... as in any good story, plot twist may happen and killing it might be a better decision, who knows. [/spoiler
And more importantly I did it because I like Ava's character. I knew Ava took huge risks, but frankly she found the solution to fire the main gun, and she volunteered to save the day, and taking risks in the middle of a battle happens. Not allowing her to risk her life simply because she was my girlfriend (while I sent the other gals into the frying pan in tinfoil mechs, and faceless techs were dying everywhere on the ship) would have been downright disrespectful to Ava. Insulting, even.
So I sent her, and she died/was maimed (?), and Kayto probably lost her because she wanted to help him have his revenge on the thing that took everything else. Sad ending, but very nice drama. I think my Kayto will be VERY angsty ^^
EDIT : So Kayto had an actual reason behind the "spare the Legion" choice, apart from saving Ava? Cool ! :)
It's one of the things I liked about this the decission;sparing the Legion because you consider it a distraction from the Paradox Core threat, and want to go straight for it makes sense ,and ultimately it's why were there for. But it does just as much to go in for the kill an clear the path .
Right, the only reason ignoring the Legion in my opinion is that it's not worth it to lose ava, or if you think of it as an actual event and not a game, how unlikely it would be for her to actaully succeed at firing the vanguard. of course then you could argue how unlikly all of the other events in the game had at succeeding, but lets not go there...
A long the way you can get an artifact, it was a gem and you can use it in battle to give you a free order (or something like that) you can also sell it but there are also exter choices available e.g. choice 1, choice 2 (consumes x amount comand points, choice 3 (uses the gem. you can use it at the end to send Ava down and she fires the cannon but she doesn't die (she's still injured but alive) again this is going off of a vague memory so keep that in mind.
Actually its dependsant on your previous choices which choice needs command points.
If you were always the righteous guy who put his revenge behind justice the wishall can be used instead of command points to send Ava down.
If you were the 'revenge first' guy sending Ava down is the free choice and you have to spend command points/the wishall to keep her on the bridge.
That's all i have to say about this.
It is just a pain in the *** to get the artifact. You have to face down 4-5 Ryuvian Battleships and 3 super beefed up elite ryders. I died a lot in that side mission.
Mainly I don't think Krysta will not make a good XO. Plus if Kayto lost Ava he would truly descend into madness for revenge and probably destroy the ship and everyone on it in futile stupidity later.
So I ended up destroying both the Legion fleet and the Legion itself.
I also believe that Fontana for sparing ongess has proved his right to lead PACT after the war. when Admiral Grey and Kayto have lost the right for compromising innocents.
POSSIBLE SPOILER PREDICTION.
I asume that the Alliance will betray Kayto in the next chapter. The same way they took Far Port from Ryuvia in the Imperial war.
