missing tower parts
I realy realy like this game. Wonderful atmosphere, story and gameplay. Thumbs up to the developers so far.

But sadly i will never manage to finish it and see the ending, cause i will never be motivated enough, to walk the WHOLE planet again and find some way back to ALL areas just to search for 2 missing tower parts. This is realy frustrating. I like exploration (games) a lot, but thats too much.

Is there any shortcut here? Or even planned? Please?

look in the guides section a guide by lifoux
it has videos of where to find almost everything
also tower parts give off a blue signal so they pretty easy to find
maybe ya missed them on the last island:)

Thanks Janitor :-) But even with the guides i would have to walk all the way again. Not to speak of finding a way back to the islands. Is a f***** maze ;-(

lol maybe look for some console commands in the discussions and guides section but be careful going to an area that havnt been to yet can bork the saves if theres a forward vector you havnt been to yet
complete all forward vectors before using any level load cheats
there are a few shortcuts in the caves too
have fun:)

So i have to cheat. Too bad if there is no better way. Well, okay. Thanks :-)

I hope the devs think about some sort of fast travel. At least for the end game when there is no story left. Maybe a new device which you can find in the last act or something like this.

theres shortcuts in the cave system too no need to cheat if wanna travel fast
patience is a virtue
when go into each loading screen it says if missed any tower part too so dont have to wander around eveywhere
youll find em take ya sweet time and find some secret stuff while ya at it

The game has a shortcuts/paths between the islands, but you have to find them first. It´s not that hard to find them, trust me...:)

There is a cheat code to give you pieces in case you don't want to hunt around for them.
Press F8 or ~ and type: solgive piece

The explorer diary in the in-game menu should also be able to pinpoint where the pieces are if you do want to walk back and find them. Else the cheat works.

I have hit this same issue and I'm trying to make sense of the entries in the explorer diary. I'm missing two but when I look at the diary to try to help locate them, I don't really get what it is telling me. It says 14/7 in one place, 6/2 in another and 4/3 in another. What does this mean? The other issue is that I simply don't know where these places are - I have no way of knowing. Is there a way to know where the entries in the explorer diary are?

Any advice on how to find these? I'd really rather not use the console to conjure them up but I might.

My own play aside, unless I have missed a menu somewhere, that brings up a couple of issues you might want to consider...

- The game always tells us where to go next. The fact that it skips over collecting all the tower pieces implies that this is something we're going to get many chances to do - it's not pushed as a primary aim at that time. In fact, we're always given other aims pushing us away from those pieces.

- A map system. I read a post saying you didn't want one but if you have a search mechanic like this where we might have to retrace old ground to find something, I think a map system of some sort is pretty essential. Even if that just shows the main regions so that we can match entries in the explorer diary with general locations.

Hoping I can find a way of locating these missing pieces though!

It´s so simple - they all have this blue "pulsating" circles around them that could be seen from any distance. Very easy to find...

That assumes I'm close by. I have no idea what areas they are in and, if I did know that, I don't know how to get to them.

Not at all. They can be seen from faraway. The communication tower pieces are to be found on every island´s surface but the first one, if I am not mistaken...

Edit: I am playing it on easy mode...

Ah okay. I would still need to find each island to check. As it is, the only piece of info I have to go is in the explorer diary but I don't know what that's actually telling me. Do you know what the info in the diary means and how I would find the islands they correspond to?

Edit: I'm on normal but I don't know if this is something affected by that. Actually, that's an interesting side question - how much do those difficulties affect?

To be honest, I am a bit confused with that too. My advice to you - concentrate on those blue pulsating circles on every island´s surface. They can´t be missed. I can´t remember how many pieces are on every single island, but, if you´re really thorough, you should find them...

This might be it, why you weren´t able to see them in a way I could. Devs could tell...

I do get to see the blue circles but, if I remember correctly, I was only seeing them at certain distances. It's possible I'm wrong though.
