That's all, the last time I played it was probably 2010.
However, the key to this mission is to gain a Supply point. Until you do, you can't call in any help. In the corners opposite your starting position are two of these. The lower one is by an airfield. The good thing about taking that one is that you stop the enemy GAP attacks (which can save your free reinforcements in upper left). The bad thing is that it's practically impossible to take with those special squads alone, because it's very well defended. In the other corner is a point guarded by two tanks; you can carefully make your way to that point with your squads in camo and in disguise. I will leave it to you, but one of those two tanks is practically oblivious to your existence. You can ignore that tank, but place demo charges near the other one to blow it up. It will take two charges, so either have two teams do that at the same time, or one team do it twice. Oddly, once you run back out of range you still retain your camo and disguise. Once that tank is gone, you get the supply point. From there, I will let you figure out how to do the rest of the mission, but it remains very, very tough, especially because of enemy GAP. If you can take that airfield, you can save yourself much grief. Eventually, you must clear the entire map of enemy units anyway. Ugh. But, it CAN be done. Save and reload often, and try different plans, because your reinforcements are very limited.
Let's Play: Blitzkrieg 2 Fall Of The Reich Axis Fatal Retribution
The most difficult part is the first 2 goals.
Strength: Camouflage.
Weakness: Camouflage and Spy do not work when enemy planes are flying above. Also the guns and rockets are not accurate and our air-force is threatened by enemy’s AA guns.
# Take Position near the bridge
The camouflage will suddenly turn off especially when moving the infantry in a whole group.
Divide the 4 groups of infantry into 2 teams of 2 groups each. There are 2 chances: Chance 1: Move 2 groups in walking and in camouflage modes when game starts. Chance 2: Move the remaining 2 groups in walking and in camouflage modes when enemy convoy appears. The route is: along the bushes and turn left along the road towards the target (the middle bridge).
# Destroy the truck convoy
Weakness: When in sight by near by enemy, they will attack us.
Solution: Divide one group to the left end of the middle bridge; it destroys the first and second convoy trucks; this blocks the bridge. The third and forth trucks will go south-wards. The second group waits in the between the 2 bridges (the middle and south ones) and destroys the 2 trucks. Both groups will be killed by enemy artillery.
Use the (later arrive) third and forth teams to capture the gun (there are chances guns on the bridge may not swirl.) beside the bank. Use this gun to kill the enemy camp’s south positions (exclude the machine gun fort.) During this time, two tanks will come from the north use demo charges to destroy them. Two more tank come from the east, destroy them also. Finally 3 tanks will come, your demo charges are used up.
Spy and occupy the enemy camp. Re-enforcements are available now.
Call for re-enforcement of heavy tanks, infantry and rocket launchers, air force fighter.
Destroy the machine gun fort (use flame thrower). Capture the AA guns nearby. Clear the enemy inside the wall.
Edit: This have worked for me so try it too... Later maybe I will add some tutorial on youtube... If so I will add a link here...
Also try to complete the rest of the mission with PWZ trainer - I do and I can tell you it can save you a lot of nerves... I think a true Blitzkrieg fan know the PWZ trainer already but in case you don't know it it is basically a trainer which freezes up the reinforcement calls so you don't have to worry about reinforcement calls shortage...
Here's a link for download: https://megagames.com/trainers/blitzkrieg-2-fall-reich
Just add it in the game directory to the BK2 FotR - to the bin file
Here's how I beat this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nonsense:
Sneak *one* of your elite infantry units to get to the first bridge. Leave all the others spread out on the very far edge of the map where it's difficult (due to some glitch) for the Russian attack planes to kill them. We will *need* these units later in order to get sight on the roughly 1 billion anti-tank guns we're going to be dealing with. Get that one team to go and take out the trucks (just shoot for the trucks, don't bother with the TNT charges, they're limited and you can make use of them later).
From here on out, you're going to be contending with relentless ground attack planes. There's nothing you can really do to stop them, but you can mitigate the damage they do by having lots of crawling infantry spread out all over the place.
When you kill the trucks, you'll be given a big handful of tanks and 5 infantry squads on the other end of the map. The first thing you need to do is get that infantry spread out and crawling. Pick one squad to move up to gain sight on the bunkers near the bridge and get your armor to blow the ♥♥♥♥ out of the bunkers. We're going to be basically repeating this as we go until you run out of infantry. This strategy should get you til about the Church. At which point, you need to take the remaining tanks you have and take out all the tanks and anti-tank guns. On my game, I had a single Tiger 2 left. There is a single IS-2 hanging out near the capture point. It will pop out when you get near. Take out the IS-2 and blitz your tank past the infantry to the capture point so that you can finally get some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reinforcements!
So you get 8 reinforcements at this point. You'll probably require 1-2 reinforcement calls of medium tanks to mop up the remaining infantry etc. in the town, since we basically just drove by them all earlier.
So, *right* next to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ point we just took is the place where the enemy will be constantly spawning tanks out of. Normally this would be a nightmare and would take an army to deal with. Luckily we can completely cheese the game and defend this spawn point with 2 squads of infantry and a single tank. Build two infantry trenches near where the Russian tanks are spawning, and have a single heavy tank about 20 meters behind the trench. If you can salvage an enemy anti-tank gun, do it and put it with your tank. The spawning enemy tanks will prioritize the infantry like a bunch of idiots and you can pick them off easily with the tank.
For reinforcements, I spawned in towed howitzers (they come with supply trucks which you will desperately need later) and a load of tanks. Time is of the essence here since the planes will still be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you up this whole time. Remember to use your elite units to gain sight for your armor. Use tons of artillery to take out the big bunker and the tanks. You should be able to take the airfield with 3 or 4 reinforcement calls remaining.
Once you capture the airfield, the planes finally stop and we can take our time a little bit more. Call in infantry reinforcements and have them recover the guns from the trucks you destroyed earlier in the level, then aim them towards the next objective. Here, I called in a couple of King Tigers to move across the bridge to the next objective. Use your sneaky elites to gain sight for your long-range artillery and tanks. Now it's just a long slog mopping up everyone on the objective. Don't bother trying to kill all of the infantry in the trenches because it takes forever and wastes precious ammunition.
You basically need to repeat this for the last and final point. There's a ton of IS-2s here on the last point. Luckily we are coming up behind them so we have a slight advantage. Artillery and your elites are your friend. Take out all the guns and tanks, then mop up the nearby infantry in the trenches and you'll finally win!
On my game, I literally had ONE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ round left on my last tank to destroy the last IS-2. My tank blockade had fallen, and none of my artillery or infantry had any ammunition left. My last tank just went around machine-gunning the infantry in the trenches for about 2 minutes until finally the win condition triggered.
Other points:
1. You're going to need to do LOTS of save-scumming.
2. Keep named saves for when key events happen so that you don't need to completely start over if your quick-saves turn out to be no good.
3. Do NOT call any aircraft reinforcements. The enemy has an infinite amount of ground-attack planes until you take the airfield. Also, the enemy has so much anti-air that it's basically impossible to make use of it.
4. Supply is a HUGE issue later in the map. It's important to have lots of supply trucks for long range artillery and your tanks.
Good luck!
