Skins for RT/BH
I've created a folder in RT/BH data folder called skins and downloaded several skins into it. However, all that plays on all the missions is the original pinkish skins. On mapeditor the new skins show up but when I go to save a modified map..it plays in pinkish skins again. Is there something I need to remove?

Why are you putting them into a skins folder?

If they are PAK files, then put them in your data folder. They should have the right folder hierarchy already.

If they are simply DDS files, you'll need to put them in the right directory. So, for the basic US Sherman for example, Data/Units/Technics/Allies/Tanks/M4A1_General_Sherman_USA

They are PAK files. I tried just leaving them in the data folder as you suggested but the same old original skins come back when I go to play?......Thanx for your reply by the way.
The folder structure in those PAK files must be wrong for RT/BH. Which skin paks are you using?

I've tried most of the available skin paks ...Van Osten, Squire James, AfG, Jack Cola, Randells etc etc..
I am also known as Squire James. Firstly, my packs are not intended for use in RT or BH. This is likely the case with many of the main packs. They can be made to work, sort of, but naturally they won't cover any unit not found in Blitzkrieg (i.e any new unit found in BH and RT is likely not included)

If we focus on my packs first, what exact one are you using?

Glad to meet you! So.....if I play the custom mission "Der Kessel von Halbe" for example....it comes up in what I call "pink" (original?)skins for Germany. If I go to mapeditor the skins are someone else's creation not pink.....until I add a unit..save it..then play.......it reverts to pink again. Now..I add Squire James ground units pak (or any other texture pak) to the data folder. Run the mission..no change..run through mapeditor..no change..it doesn't even show the added pak skins on mapeditor. However, on my old XP computer using the discs...all the added skins are there and when I run the game everything is fine. I've compared all the files on both computers and there doesn't seem to be any differences. PS...I'm not by any means an expert at moving files and such but I take instruction rather well.
Ah, I think I know the problem :) RT and BH use only the _c and _l textures by default. On some versions you can change this in the options screen. On others, you can't. If you can't, try this patch.

http://www.mediafire.c-o-m/file/wxmmmzitn4mmmzz/Blitzkrieg+Rolling+Thunder+MP+Patch+v1.3.exe

Alternatively, the Blitzkrieg Start Tools application will automatically fix the texture settings automatically in any Blitzkrieg game installation.

Having trouble trying to figure out where to put the Blitzkrieg Start Tools folder.............Steam\steamapps\common\blitzkrieg anthology\Rolling Thunder---doesn't seem to work. I don't have a Run folder...everything seems to be under Rolling Thunder then I have the data, mods and saves folders?
Should be the same place as the exe file.

Finally got it figured. Put the "patch" in place.....no change. Installed "Blitzkrieg Start Tools"....no change. Any final suggestions before I surrender?
And just to confirm, you putting the PAK files in the Data directory and the unit textures are different in the map editor but not ingame?

Yep! It's odd, pretty well all the skin paks come up on the editor perfectly but if I play from the editor they revert and even when I play from the game menu they're still pink. Thanx for your assistance though, but I think I've lost this battle!

Hello,maybe you wanna try this:
1.Open your RT/BH folders and find config.cfg. Open it with your notepad.
2.Find following sentenses:
InstantApply="1"><Var>Compressed</Var><Action>SetTextureQuality</Action><ActionFill>GetTextureQuality</ActionFill><Default Type="8"><Var>Compressed</Var></Default><KeyName>GFX.Texture.Quality</KeyName></item><item EditorType="3" Flags="0"
change the "Compressed" to "High".
3.Save it and play.
You will find the custom skins take effect but some units' skins become black and white checks. This is caused by missing high texture of original RT/BH.
There once is a "Blitzkrieg Anthology BH-RT Texture Patch.exe" on the internet, but all download links seem invalid to me.(As shown on http://www.geocities.jp/kwx50/lbk/Misc.htm#Patch)
If you find this patch, please share it to me. Thanks.

BTW:if you wanna change the resolution, just modified following contents in step 2.
InstantApply="1"><Var>1920x1080x32</Var><Action>SetVideoMode</Action><ActionFill>GetVideoModes</ActionFill>
Here you can see I already change the resolution to 1920*1080.
That should work too. Thanks for posting :) I knew about editing the config files manually but i couldn't remember what to edit to forcibly change the settings.
