Goblin King for the Fourth Time
Phew, that was way too much effort.

Is there any other legit strategy to do this besides cacti, onions and toxic swamp?

I tried using the stabby boys for the heck of if, but they soon became completely trivial (3000 damage and 0 kills, eh). I find this absolutely impossible to do with the slime boss, and even on the forest map I couldn't get past day 29. Expensive upgrades were probably a mistake, should've just expanded the killbox by one layer.

There are other ways but I think most of them will end up with a very similar looking maze. Personally, I had the relic that gives wizards a 10% chance of spawning gnomes, which worked in conjunction with the relic that gives a damage buff to gnomes next to houses as I had to build loads of them.

Here's my setup: https://imgur.com/a/gc9Or3C

I actually just quit shortly after getting the 4th King cheevo because it was really tedious trying to figure out which spawned gnomes were blocking the path and moving them to a new location. You'll see the outer parts of the maze get less well carefully placed.

Archers in maps like this are much better if you moved them to corners so they shoot straight down the aisle in 2 directions. You remove a house corner, which gives space for goblin pathing and the archer. You can do this at each corner if you're consistent with the setup.

This setup also allows you to put some coffees and stuff in the right spots.

Oh yeah, I realise that there a bunch of inefficiencies. You can also see that I just spammed houses towards the end of the maze instead of alternating between houses and units to get the damage buff. Plenty of other things I could have done but it felt like I couldn't lose and it was getting tiresome to reset after every wave so I just stopped. By the end, I was generating well over 500 gold every wave, and getting close to 100 gnome spawns per wave, which was increasing with every new wizard.

I also stopped really trying after 4 kings because at that point the game is basically just annoying.

Made it to day 32 and king #5.

Even he would've probably been doable, but I kind of gave up on king 4 and didn't expand the box with further layers. Simply too much of a chore. By king #6 the HP probably scales so much that you can't finish him off any more.

I used blunderbusses and got to day 31 - used coffee, chili peppers, + crit damage and the artifact that makes your crits cause the gnome to shoot in 4 different directions

on wasteland start

I don't know how people have managed to almost double the days I got too. I wish there where more, or really any guides or tips for the game. Real shame its so small. Any tips on how to deal more then the needed 414K damage to get the slime king?

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3461260080 this is quite a good guide! You just have to translate it xD

Yes I hope theres some more buzz and guides in the future... we are planning a pretty big update coming so hoping that gives it a bit of a kick. I also wrote some guides here although theres not much strategical info on the wiki yet (though if anyone wants to add... feel free)

Post in the discord and im sure people will help you with tips! As the dev I feel like I shouldn't spoil too much but basically just eco max hard, as early as possible, path control hard, find the broken synergies, etc, good luck!
Protip for endgame:

before Endless Mode starts you should try to get "Treasure Map" relic. that'll get you 1 more map chunk per day, as well as a goblin that drops 10 gold.

if you know you're able to go into endless, lock the DEATHCAP mushroom when you see it in shop. buy it asap when you feel your maze setup is ready to handle massive swarms.

having both relics mean you'll spawn 2x treasure goblins maps PLUS double the map chunks from normal mobs PER DAY. which let you grow massive windmill corn farms.

or just more space to build more maze.
