What is shader model 3.0 and where can I get it ?

I try to load game message comes up stating

Error : Could not init 3D system
Shader model 3.0 is required
Download latest video drivers

but java is required and install it but still nothing any suggestions

Try updating your graphics cards to the Latest " Beta " Version.

See I had to get Intel Update Utility or something like that, and my driver is updated according to it. Still no luck

Video cards have hardware shader models. You need a video card with this technology built in it.

I tryed updateing two ways did download when I went to install said was not compatable with my graphics card I feel I wasted mty money on this game cause I cant play it

Seriously...read the minimum specs needed before buying. If you don't know what it means then you need to learn. Owning a computer is not just about turning it on/off and using a program. A basic understanding of a computers components and how it works is a good thing ;)

SM 3.0 was introduced almost 10 years ago when nVidia released the 6000 series.

Then I dont understand I use a laptop it is only 4 years old I own FS 2011 and FS 2013 works fine with them
