Getting Mod Maps to work

OK I got the zip mod maps downloaded then placed in the mod file in the game. I go to the game then into careers and only two standard game maps still appear I tried a new save game opening then normal and again all I get is the two standard game maps Any Ideas

Same result, the zipped map although loaded sucessfully in the mod folder cant be found when I start up the career portion in the game; I only get the two standard maps that came with the game

Is it only not working with one downloaded map or multiple ones?

To many little reasons it could be,
and your are not able to tell yourself then move on to a different map that works for you.

You mean placed in the mods "folder" right?

My Games\FarmingSimulator2015\mods\mycoolmap.zip

I use 7zip just because.

First unzip the map or it will take FOREVER to load. And make sure there isn't another zip file inside the main zip. Lots of map madders like to add map pics or intructions into the main zip all with ANOTHER zip that contains the actual map. IF there are two zip files the game only reads the first level.

I put the zipped file into My Games\FarmingSimulator2015\mods\ but I havn't tried unzipping it my self and you mean just unzip it in the mod folder and the files go automatically to the right other required sub folders and no none of the maps have showen up. Also If I just go to the main menue and wait for a while it will eventually show up ?

If you will simply follow the instuctions I gave you in the previous thread, see 2nd post above, your map will work. It does not currently work because it was packed incorrectly. These guys are telling you the same thing.

I am using the sample mod map and there are no other zipped files in the main zip file. My question is where does the mod map show up when you open the game ? Does it show up in the first main menue (carerr etc) or do you open a new save slot then normal and then does it show up after you pick normal

Hello, any maps you install will show up in the career menu under the first two standard maps.

But to be sure about this one particular map, read the last post in your first thread...in order for the game to read the mod or mod map it must be the top level directory.

I gather you mean the top file in the mod folder or do you mean something else

The mod or mod map folder cannot be inside another folder which in turn is inside of the mods folder.

When you click on your map zip or folder to open it, you should see among other things a moddesc.xml.

So just putting the mod map , after downloadingit, into the Game Mod, for all mods, isn't where it is supposed to go or do u mean put it there extract then exe a file called moddesc.xml

parkerjg, buddy, I do not know if I am the one to help you. This is your problem as I understand it:

Ok, to play by yourself, open the samplemod_map_ModLandNet.7z and drag or copy/paste the sample_mod_map folder into your mods folder.

You can play singleplayer with no further problems and faster loading times. If you want to play with buddies you will need to zip the sample_mod_map folder and the delete the folder (do not have both in your mods folder).

So in the future beware of folks who do not package their mods properly.

Most maps can be dropped right into your mods folder no problem. A few like the above are zipped up wrong so the game cannot read them. Others, require you to unzip a master archive to get to the zipped map.
