2) make sure your tractor is in the right position - not too high/low or too forward/back - resetting the sprayer to your farm should ensure that.
3) some tractors are too powerful for some units and won't attach. If you've tried upgrading your tractor, you may have this problem. Try getting one slightly smaller - I find the "Lambogini" works for everything even if it isn't powerful enough to pull a loaded trailer uphill.
I tried using the auto-coupler(?), but I could never figure out how to use it.
So, some tractors can't couple to some things?
I understand that pulling a Semi-trailer would be a little hard/strange, but I would have thought that there would be SOME in-game info, telling you that your $200,000 tractor won't pull some things. (Face-palm!)
Well, that blows. I have a beautiful paper-weight now. :(
That would be too easy!
I had "assumed" that it was because the tractor was too powerful ... apparently I was wrong and it just had the wrong type of hitch. I the unmodded game there is a green tractor just above the Lamborgini that seems to do fine without much trouble on hills. It only has like 263 HP but you should try it.
There is a 'dolly' for pulling the semi-trailers with a tractor. It's annoying if you do a lot of backing up with your trailers though.
I don't mind, it adds a touch of realism. But I do wish they'd have that info in the store description.
Fair enough.
So I'm trying to pull a trailer for unloading my combine, but my current tractor is too powerful or some such. What is it for exactly...tilling? I mean I can do other stuff with it like plow, seed, ect. but it cant pull a trailer...and it goes the same speed as my smaller tractor when doing field work. I really only need it to pull loaded LARGE delivery trailers, but the rest of the time its just sitting here, and I could just use a semi I guess for the larger trailer, and sell this, and just use small tractors for everything else.
I haven't done any root farming so maybe it will work better there or something.
If you don't mind my asking?
What is the quick-connect hitch and how do I use it. (Its one of the mods from Giant.) I purchased it, but don't really see it doing me any favors...still have to line up with the hitch pretty close to normal, and it still didn't allow me to hook on to "un-authorized" equip. :(
Don't get rid of your T8-320, besides cultivating, plowing and seeding, you'll find it useful if you want to mow and use a forage wagon or mow and use a round baler (with the baler add grass mod). If you do light logging, it will pull the Stepa.
I always keep a smaller tractor or two for the stuff the T8-320 won't connect to.
Thanks glowpipe!
Now I know how to put those things to good use. I'd been using them on the front cuz I thought they were needed for steering help, but your idea sounds like a better one. Maybe I can do both...now to figure out which sizes I need. :)
Thanks Chow!
The T8-320 is my fav tractor, I love the way it sounds and it does have enough HP to do just about anything. Hence my dissatisfaction with not being able to hitch to stuff. Glad this has gotten sorted. :)
EDIT: WHAT? Now I can't use "workers" with the weight attached between the tractor and trailor...already sold un-needed tractor. :(
Now, I'm terrifed of buying ANY new tractors.
