Confusion about sower machine
I am using the default sowing machine that came with the game. I have two actaully, one looaded with wheat and the other wth rye. With the wheat sower when i attempt to sow a
field NO seeds come out of the machine! Yes its got seeds in it, about half full. But when
atempt to useit the seed quantity graph and numerical count do NOT CHANGE.And if i
hire a worker to drive it it only goes a few yards and then gives up and raises to sower
as if thinks there is some problem.

Does resetting the tool also REPAIR the tool. if reset only returns the tool to the farm
how in the world do I repair it?

have you ploughed the field before seeding it?

I not onlly plowed and then cultivated the feild... TWICE! Thats why i'm confused.

First, saying you have one sower loaded with wheat and another one loaded with rye doesnt make any sense since with any loaded sower you just press O and the seed will change to whatever the sower supports (the game isnt as realistic unfortunately).
Secondly, you cannot repair equipment because you cant damage it.
Thirdly, are you sure you own the field?

Is there something else already seeded there? If you try to sow anywhere that's already been done the machine somehow magically knows this and doesn't sow anything, nice for filling in small gaps at edges or that the workers miss whilst turning w/o wasting seed, just not very prototypical.

As for repairing it, there is no damage modelling of any kind, either crash damage or ongoing wear and tear damage so far as I can tell, so if it's genuinely not working it's bugged, other than cycling through seed types to see if that fixes it I can't see anything else to do ingame other than just sell it, appreciate that may not be a nice option financially, nor should you have too.

If you can recall when it was working you can go back to an earlier save, or just reload to before you bought it, the game keeps a folder of save backups at C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2015\savegameBackup\ you just need to move whichever backup folder you want to use into the main Farming Simulator folder and change the name to read "savegame1" (assuming first save slot), rename the already in-use save there to something else if you want to keep that/avoid conflict (not sure what actually happens if you have 2 save folders with the same name, best not to find out as it may just corrupt both).

I have to agree with Azthek, sounds like a field you don't own, What map are you playing on? Can you link a pic of your map?

I;m ising the 'Bj' map. Yes i own the field, I've planted this many times before. Are you saying
that pressing 'O' actully 'magically' changes the seed type IN the seeder. I THOUGHT it was
only to select what type of seed was loaded when filling the seeder. Wow how unrealalistic.
Even more confusing to me is the fact I seeded a WHOLE field without the numbers changing
on thre tools bar graph/number indicator, and yet the next day the fie;d was growing. That seems like a bug.

Did you personally do the sowing or have a worker do it? If the latter they automagically buy seed/diesel as they work (same goes for fertiliser I believe as well), so the figures wouldn't change in that scenario, if you did it yourself then sounds like a bug indeed.

2 things could be hapenning:

1 your field is allready sowed.
2 You didn't cultivate first. There is one machine that does not require it, but the rest (and the first one) require you to cultivate/plow the field first.

I didn't read all the comments above, but when you hire a worker you don't spend any seeds or fuel.

good luck

Plowing is never required for crop planting, only cultivating.
The only times you need to use the plow is to create new field space, ie extending/merging fields or if you want too rp, but in the latter case just plowing within the regular confines of a field prior to cultivating has no practical effects/benefits ingame.

you can actually use a plow instead of a cultivator

If you change crops you need to plow, i'm no expert in this game (i only started in FS15), but the game says, a field needs to be plowed if you are changing crop in that field.

Did you try saving the game then reloading it? Can you reset the vehicles and see if that makes a difference?

it doesnt need to sadly.. either you plow or you cultivate, both is a waste of time/money :(
PitVital Nov 9, 2014 @ 3:21am
When changing crop type I have never re-plowed a field, I usually just use my sower that cultivates at the same time and just select a seed and away it goes.

Wrong you just need to cultivate, no need to plow. I go back and forth between wheat, barley and canola and have never plowed, you only need to cultivate. Plowing is only needed to extend and merge fields.
