Dumping grass or chaff into the bunkers at the cows or biogas plant, and then compressing it, covering it, turns it to silage too.

Silage can be made directly by the Krone Big X harvester and header.

No, the Big X creates chaff, by chopping up grass or crops. You then dump the chaff in the trenches at the biogas plant (or the cow farm), pack it, cover it and let it ferment. When it's done, you have silage.

This is a video I made to explain how to use the biogas plant. you can skip to the part where it shows how to make silage. there is many different ways https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAM_HnMz1YY

I was just showing all the things you can do to make silage. once your cut corn charff its silage and you can dump it. I was just trying to show that there is many different ways in the game to get silage

ok cool and thanks, i have grass in the silage pit at the cow farm it looks like i need it to be 100% full befor i can cover it but not sure.
Hussboy Nov 6, 2014 @ 2:48pm
no it don't need to be a 100% full. you need to drive over and compact it. I think it needs to be like 10% full tho

I modded the bucket and the loader can handle lifting 14-15 tons before it starts to tip forward. However only raise the bucket when over the unloading spot.

It doesn't need to be full to cover, but it does have to be somewhat full (10-20% maybe? Not sure), and fully compressed. Drive something heavy back and forth on it for a while until it's 100% compressed, before you can cover it.

Now as soon as I put the silage into a tipper, can I do anything with it besides feeding animals? I can't store it anywhere, can't put it back in the pits, or anywhere. Could someone help please?

You can store it in the silage pits or dump it in the BioGas Plant to power it and recieve cash.

I can't put it back in the pits once it's in the tipper. It says silage not accepted here.

It may say that but you might be able to still unload it and it shouldn't disappear into the ground, try it. I haven't tried since I ususally don't ever have silage in a tipper but I've seen the error before when trying to dump mix rations in a the wrong trough and it still lets me unload and works fine counting as a mx ration dump.

Nevermind, I figured it out! :P For some reason you can't put silage back in the biogas plant, but you can dump it in the pit by the cow farm. That's stupid. Thanks anyways.
