The page is for Farming Simulator 2013, but just about everything applies. (Apart from the vehicle name, that I saw at a glance) :-)

Easiest way to do it is with corn:

First get a field close to the place where you want to unload the silage (in the American map I use field #14)

Plant the corn and use a Krone harvester with the corn head to get the chaff off the field (you'd have to go with your trailer train on the side of the harvester since the Krone doesn't have storage). 1ha of corn, whether it is fertilised or not makes about 70t of chaff, so you need a lot of storage:

The trailer train must hold at least 200t to make the least number of trips to the biogas plant (my ideal was 8 trailers in the train, 8 Fliegl 266's to prevent in the silage silo to have chaff stack up more in one area than the other, 256t in total). Be sure you have either the 2nd last or the last tractor, because when the train is full you'll have a hard time dragging it.

One silage silo supports maximum 600t, so you'd need to make only 2 trips to fill it up (beyond that point it's very hard to get up the silage already there to unload more and you might get the tractor stuck)

Use the front loader to load up the fermented chaff in the biogas plant, and have fun doing it (each full load is 6.4t, so in order to empty a silo of 512t you need to make 80 trips)

Be mindful though, making silage with corn is not cheap in the beginning, considering how much money you got to put into machinery.

The biogas plant itself fills to a maximum of 20 000 liters of silage then slowly processes it. Didn't seem like a viable way to make money.

Took me a few hours to set up, mostly cutting row after row after row with the MEX 5. Ended up restarting and stick with farming.

Silage process seems significantly faster in FS15 than it was in FS13, I don't know by how much but when I did it it took me about 7-8 loads of 6.4t each to get to the maximum, so it is a more viable way to make money in this iteration of FS (dem upgraded processing units tho)

So the processing was in FS13 too? I never set up a silage operation there

Before FS15 came up with woodcutting, selling fermented silage at the biogas plant was THE way to make money in FS13

When you sell silage to the biogas plant it only accepts 20t max and you cannot sell more there until it has processed it, despite having 600 tonnes waiting in the silo. Was that present in FS13?

dont know the numbers in fs13, but yes. you could fill up the drop point in fs13. making you having to wait to fill up more

Also you can make silage out of Grass, Chaff and Hay. you use the easy collect header for the krone big x and collect windrows of wheat/barley and even grass. It cuts it up to chaff

You can also use the disc header thing and cut wheat/barley and i think canola to chaff aswell. But i think this would be wasteful

Corn and wheat give the same yield for harvesting or chaffing. The corn header for the Big X is larger than the one for the other crops, but the sower is smaller.

Barney and canola can be used too but that would be a terrible waste of money given the higher sale price and lower yield.

Bear in mind that in this iteration of the game the price of silage is variable. Though, now there are also great demands for it as well.

So your telling me if you dump corn sileage at the processing plant, it will passive sell it all? no more need to run the bales?
