Atleast it isnt like old days when you bought a floppy disc, there was no means of "patching" the games.
Yes im annoyed by the bugs too. infact when i tried to start the game the first time it just minimized and had to fix the issue myself because the default resolution was strange and not supported by my hardware.
They released the game on the 30'th. two days after that came the weekend. this is not a company like blizzard. they probably cant afford to run their company 24/7
These are just my thoughts ofcorse.
Happy Farming
If its gone a month or 3 and they havent fixed anything. Yeah. then you can start complaining.
Start to complain less than a week after the game is out ? not cool bro.
Atleast give them a chance. Non of the bugs are gamebreaking and in need of a urgent hotfix.
And when the game comes out, all is like "Giants! I hate all the bugs! Why didn't you test the game and fix the bugs before releasing???"
I have been a big supporter of the Farming Simulator franchise, since Farming Simulator 2009, and therefore looked forward to FS15.
But i was massively dissappointed!
FS15 does not feel like a finished game, and with so many bugs and errors, it seems more like a advanced beta.
And with a huge patch at release day, that became even more clear; Your game was rushed out the door, with a huge amount of bugs and errors, and you knew it!
For me, the game feels only like a graphical update to FS13, "why?" may you ask, and "What are the bug and errors im talking about?"
1:
You have not added anything to the game, that has´n already been out, as a bug-free mod, so you have not added anything new to the game.
2:
The dreaded "Black screen" bug:
With FS15, you have introduced a game-breaking bug: If you do your own keybindings, and dont map the "Accept Menu" button, the game crashes and wont even start.
This is a sign that you, have not even tested some basic aspects of the game and game settings.
If you did´n have the time to fix the bug, before release, then a simple but effective solution would be, to add a warning text when you try to remove the keybinding for that function, og simply deny a user to change that funtion.
But no, you did nothing, and if that bug comes as a surprise to you, that only tell us gamers, that you did not test the keybinding settings.
3:
No new model functions:
The models in FS15 are just as cheaply made as in FS09; Up - Down - Start - Stop is the best way to descripe every single implement in FS15.
Why havent you added some new features to the implements?
Why havent you showed off the new game engines capabilitys?
4:
Missions:
Why have you chosen to add those stupid jobboards instead of sticking to the tested, tried and accepted method of job announcement?
Why do the player have to drive all over the map, to find out wich missions are avaiable?
Why have you chosen to force the player to waste time and diesel, by driving all over the map?
5:
Logging:
Why have you chosen to make a logging feature, as far as i know, that is not something you relate to farming, logging is a completely different business.
Is it because you could grap a few extra sponsors by doing that?
Instead of adding the logging to the game (Wich already is avaiable as a mod), you should have added the following:
5a: Damage/repairs to the machines and implements
5b: Crops gets infected with diseases and bugs
5c: Wheels can dig down into the soil (And not just that wheeltrack texture you made)
5d: Something like the Soil mod.
5e: Gear boxes in tractors and combines
And if the above features would scare away young and new players, then release a version of the game that have those features, and charge a few extra euro for that.
You could call it: Extreme, reality, real life edition or something like that.
If i have to write every bug gamers have found, then this would be a very long email, and im positive that you are watching bug threads on your own forum, fs-uk and steam.
6:
What is the "WOW!" factor in FS15?
What is the advantage of the new game engine?
Why should i ditch FS13 and convert to FS15?
I have a very hard time finding an answer to those questions, because i simply cant see it, so please help me with that.
A very good way of "promoting" the new game engine, would be to implement the features from section 5a and 5c, and if the new game engine is not capable of that, then i dont think it was worth it.
7:
This is one of those things that annoys me the most:
Why havent you FULLY supported two of the most popular steering wheels on the market: Logitech G25 and G27?
Lets focus on the G27:
On the steering wheel, the four lowest red butttons have never been recognised by Farming Simulator, from FS09 and forward.
What is the limit in your software that does that?
Why does a G27 user have to have 50% keybindings in Logitechs software and 50% in the games settings?
Why does the speeder and brake axes not get recognised as a analog axes in the game, its full throttle or nothing, wich makes the pedals useless.
And if you add a joystick, for realistic gaming, then the problems gets multiplied.
Dont get me wrong here, there really are things i like about the game, but all the bugs and weird new features just overshadows them.
With this mail, i hope that you will listen more to the community, and perhaps rethink your ways of thinking "in-house".
Remember; The community dont have to be loyal to the developer, but the developer MUST be loyal to the community!
Its sad to see that you are 100% depending on the modders, to keep the game alive, the game would die out if there where no modders.
Make sure that in the future, you keep yourself alive, and the modders are just a bonus, like the cheery on a cake; You make the cake and the modders delivers the cherry.
2: Easily fixed.
3: And what features would they be?..
4: No comment.
5: Logging can be related to farming.
6: FS15 is the wow factor. :-p
7: It's not a super realistic driving simulator.
1. it was a popular mod
2. it justifies a new release
Logging is extremely buggy and doesn't even work half the time anyway.
Apart from logging, dirt textures and wheel textures, FS15 has nothing new from the last game. GIANTS pulled a Call of Duty on us.
Well what did you expect? Was there much new from FS2009 to FS2011? Or between FS2011 to FS2013?
Logging was announced by Giants. Dirt-textures and tiretracks was revealed by trailers.
What you expect as a WOW-factor is up to you, but everything Giants has announced has been delivered.
Even the vehicle/equipment list was nown before the game was released.
Bugs will be in every game, and they will be ironed out.
I didn't expect anything, I am not op. I just wish they would drop this business model of re-releasing the same game every 2 years and add more things that would give more depth to the gameplay. Farming "Simulator", you don't need to plow your fields, you don't need to rotate crops, you don't have to worry about vehicle maintenance apart from an arbitrary fee every day, etc.
