It would definitely add realism and atmosphere to the game. FS2013 had zombie-like pedestrians and stupid drivers in town, the AI wasn't much to speak of. You kind of felt alone in the town...the only sign of other farmers was "Farmer Bob bought field X after out-bidding you in the auction..." You never see Farmer Bob, working his field or otherwise. He's probably one of those in-town zombies.
Just have it so you can buy whichever field you want like it is now. But until that time. There would be other people working there. Even have it so they just plant corn and the other fields look alive. Don't even have to see the other farmers work aslong as you see the other fields are being worked on
