How to install mods from zip files?

I followed the instructions, created a /Mods folder from within' the directory installed by Steam. But nothing seens to be working.

All I did was drop the zip file into the /Mods folder like they said I should. No opening it, they said.

Is there a special way to so this coming from Steam?

Don't put them in the Steam directory. Look under "my documents/my games/farmingsimulator2015/", and you'll find the mods directory. Place the zip files there (unless it's one of the few that need to be unzipped, but 99% don't) and look for the mods in the mod section of the store (click the right arrow at the top twice).
