I have 3 problems with it. As I've said the conveyer belt mechanics are kind of messed up. The game won't chip a log unless you jam it way back in there. Like way past the point where you'd think chiping would begin. Third, it works very poorly with thin logs, like the kind from the top of a tree. This is the most frustrating trying to get it to chip thin logs
The larger diameter log sections, I used to find 3 to 4 metre lengths worked best, only one log on the conveyor belt at a time, placed with the belt off, and then it would often feed the log in all in one go.
The small bits from crooked trees and the ends from straight trees are definitely painful, along with when the chipper physics decides to rotate the very end of larger diameter log at the last slice!
Download the Bruks On mod and that can unrealistically, magically clear up most of the annoying little bits.
Essentially it is a trailer that you just drop the logs into and they get chipped.
While it may be a bit cheaty, I feel it is justified until the physics with the ingame one are fixed.
I've put logging aside for the time but will try to place the log before turning on the chipper next time. In my experence though the log will just bounce off the enty port thing over and over.
