Suggestions for a safe mod download site?
I'm wanting to get into some mods now for the game since I have been able to buy all the end game machines. Just looking for some semi trucks and bigger tippers maybe. Mod sites scare me, viruses and such. Can you guys suggest a good clean safe site to get some quality mods? I really wish we had workshop on here as other games do, but untill then I want to find a good mod site. Thanks for any suggestions!

I use modhub.us
Modland.net
Modhoster.com
And the official farming simulator website for a few free contest mods.

There are no viruses on the mod sites. There are some with ads that pop up saying warning, warning a virus blah blah. They are just trying to sell something. Ignore them, close those extra windows that pop up. Or get ad-block and never see them again.

I would like to respond to what Chrisben1 said about no viruses on the mods. I added two new mods and they caused me problems and was unable to get back into FS 15. My game was playing fine until then. So thankful for Randy helping me to get back in. He also told me to look at the log for errors and such and sure enough I seen several errors in them. But the person said but everything is ok now. So not true! My friend also had the same problem with some new mods and land that he had added. I'm not so sure it would be accurate to say there are no viruses on the mods. Some people can be very sneaky about that. We had both decided that we were only going to use FS 15 mods to be safe! Thank you for those other safe sites..will pass them onto my friend too. Oh and btw I have adblock!

Just checked out the Giant's site.....wow I had no idea they had mods, duhh. Never thought to look there. I got several so will check them out. I bought the game here on steam and honestly never had been to Giants web site, my bad. Nice mod section and I feel safe downloading them there.

No that is where we got the bad mods at was the Giants site. I could not play the game after I added 2 mods from there.

Easy way to revert if mod dont work and you can not find it among the 30 mods you have ....

savegame1 Ctrl-C Ctrl-V -> "savegame1 - Copy"

and

mods Ctrl-C Ctrl-V -> "mods - Copy"

dont forget these simple steps. My savegame3 is up at

savegame3 - Copy (61)

:)

...

About mods. They contain 3 things ... shapes, textures and scripts. Only the script part can hurt your computer but ..... I think they use Lua scripting or something similar and so I guess the scripts can only do things that Giants have opened up for the scripts.

Secondly they usually come in a Zip file. And it is usually not to be opened by any third party tool like WinRar or 7zip. Your just supposed to place the file in the mods folder.

So the chance that a mod that only contains artwork and a script could hurt your computer is ZERO I believe. The mod is to be opened by FarminSimulator and that program only loads maps and objects and run it.

Just to be clear, the OP wasn't talking about single mods and neither was I. There are two mirror sites, Uploadfiles and Sharefiles that have those annoying pop ups that say Virus, Warning, blah blah. They are just trying to sell something and can be ignored. They will do no harm to your PC and you can safely close those windows. If you have anti-virus software running, which you should have if your downloading ANYthing, then your PC will be protected. What you're describing isn't even a virus anyway, if it were a virus your whole PC would be infected, not just a single game. Sounds more like user error.
