I haven't seen the Saitek stuff IRL but Saitek does have a rep for being a lower end brand.
If you do racing games too i would go into the Thrustmaster T500 or simular..
Just note that the G27/G25's are VERY prone to have their optical wheel crack at some point. You can get a brass replacement for 37 dollars, which isnt bad, but just keep that in mind..
Other than that its a good wheel..
I saw Amazon had the G29 & G920 for about $350. The thing is now you have to buy the shifter separately, so figure in the $400 dollar range. Since it appears you play ETS2/ATS, I read people like the Thrustmaster(not sure which model). If you search those forums, you'll find quite a few discussions about "wheels".
As for me, I'm using and old Logitech Wingman(180 left to right) for driving, a Rumblepd 2 for walking around and a very old Raider Pro flight stick from InterAct that I use for front loader operations. They all serve the purpose fairly well. The wheel even does ok in ATS with a physics mod I altered.
I'm just going by looks, but the Giant's/Saitek wheel looks kind of chincy to me. My wife was going to get me a G27 last Christmas but I told her to skip it. No gaming peripheral is worth 600 bucks in my opinion. Let us know what you go with.
Cool. I hope it works out for you.
just if its cheap cheap for a reason :)
