If you can find it I'd go with a used Logitech G27. You'd still need to get a joy stick if you want to duplicate the functionality of the Saitek wheel ( Ive never bothered setting up my joystick for FS15, and get along with a mouse pretty well)When I got into sim racing I sold my G27, and while I'm convinced the Fanatec kit I bought is a step up for racing the G27 was arguably a better set up for FS15 and ATS/ETS2. The newer Logitech may be an option but I believe they had some compatibility problems, though those may have been sorted by now.

I haven't seen the Saitek stuff IRL but Saitek does have a rep for being a lower end brand.

I have been using the G27 for years and it is very very good. I also bought a spinner nob and put in on and that is like having my own tractor. You can not go wrong with a G27 in my opion.

G27 all the way :)

I don't use a wheel, but 2 of our farmhands told me if/when I decided to get one they'd kill me if I didn't get the G27 (which they both have). So...apparently they feel very strongly in favor of that wheel.

If you are only gonna use it for fs and ETS/ATS then a used G27 and a joystick will do..
If you do racing games too i would go into the Thrustmaster T500 or simular..

Just note that the G27/G25's are VERY prone to have their optical wheel crack at some point. You can get a brass replacement for 37 dollars, which isnt bad, but just keep that in mind..
Other than that its a good wheel..

Well I have the Saitek wheel and it is marvelous. It also works well with ETS2, ATS, and OMSI 2. Can't ask for more than that, and it is a whole lot cheaper.

One nice thing about the G27 and the Saitek is they worked with FS15 out of the box despite there being no in game wheel support. I don't know how things would go with the thrustmaster but I needed to edit some xml in the input bindings before I could get my Fanatec working correctly.

New G27's are getting harder and harder to find. And if you do happen to find one, your going to pay a pretty penny for it ($500-600 bucks). As far as used goes(wouldn't buy one myself), it's a crapshoot. Maybe the person selling is just upgrading and took good care of it, or it was some stupid kid that lost in some racing game and decided to take it out on his/her wheel.

I saw Amazon had the G29 & G920 for about $350. The thing is now you have to buy the shifter separately, so figure in the $400 dollar range. Since it appears you play ETS2/ATS, I read people like the Thrustmaster(not sure which model). If you search those forums, you'll find quite a few discussions about "wheels".

As for me, I'm using and old Logitech Wingman(180 left to right) for driving, a Rumblepd 2 for walking around and a very old Raider Pro flight stick from InterAct that I use for front loader operations. They all serve the purpose fairly well. The wheel even does ok in ATS with a physics mod I altered.

I'm just going by looks, but the Giant's/Saitek wheel looks kind of chincy to me. My wife was going to get me a G27 last Christmas but I told her to skip it. No gaming peripheral is worth 600 bucks in my opinion. Let us know what you go with.

So managed to find an old g25 going cheap worth a shot i reckon since its within driving distance everything else put me off due to price of postage (i live in ireland ) . But thrust master did peak my interest only downside no clutch or shift stick wit most models which is something i wanted cause im a farmer irl and wanted the same experience as i have at work

cool cool.. the g25s also suffer from that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ optical disc, so if yours keeps going off center then theres a brass one as for the g27 you can replace it with..
just if its cheap cheap for a reason :)
HellKaiser May 12, 2016 @ 2:23pm
Ye was thinking its cheap for a reason but worth a shot if i can save money and if it doesnt work to well then i didnt lose much and can start again

The G25 is a good wheel. A few less buttons than the G27 but otherwise comparable. FS15 doesn't support a clutch or shift out of the box. You may find a mod to add support. IIRC drive control has a module that simulates gears, not sure if it supports a clutch.
