What does it mean when a bell chimes in the game?

Hello guys !!! When I am playing occasionally hear a bell ringing, someone could tell me what it means?

I've wondered the same thing (about the bell). At first I thought it was getting an achievement, but that doesn't seem to be it. It's thrown me off a couple times, where I actually thought it was coming from actual outside noises or something.

If you dropped off at the train and pull the lever. about 30 seconds you'll hear a bell and you get more money. or you compleated a mission. Come on guys, this is supposed to be a friendly community here.

Which map are you playing? I've been playing mostly Westbridge lately and I sometimes hear what sounds like a bell in the distance. Could it be a church bell that someone else mentioned?

The map is BAXLEY, is mod map

Is it the sound of a cash register, or is it a more faint sort of "jangling" bell sound. I hear the latter every time I pop into a NH T9.

It happened to me on Graceland the first time. Thought my computer was crashing. Afterwards there were red balloons at the dealer. Some equipment sale going on. Not sure if they were there beforehand.

If the bell sound is consistant reguardless of where you are at on the map or what equipment you are in, then it more then likely indicates some sort of transaction happening, may it be from something that is a "sell-over-time" type of thing like on some maps, or, if you have loans out, the payment of the loan is being deducted.
