I asked because in that video it clearly states that a mac version will be available and FS2013 is available for mac. That's why I asked.
Thanks!
This is because we often want to express our interest in seeing games we'd buy brought to our platform also. Obviously, we know what the clearly indicated platform is. The point is to make our voice heard so developers and publishers are aware the Mac audience would buy the title as well if it were available.
I hope this helps clear up any confusion for you.
Back to the topic at hand...
I came here to check on the possibility of a Mac release myself. I'm glad to hear it is coming. Now I will go and wish list the game for future reference. :D
If I buy it now and it later becomes available for MAC will I be able to download without paying extra?
It's not a question of whether there will be a Mac version or not. A Mac version has been announced and will most likely be released on the same date as the Windows version (for sure it will appear in the Apple App Store on that day). I just don't see the point why Steam doesn't offer both versions right away, so that Mac players can also preorder.
The same situation occurs with other games, too: e.g., F1 2014 is currently listed as Windows only on Steam. But there will be a Mac version, exactly like for F1 2013. But will it be on Steam? If I knew, I'd already have preordered F1 2014.
Because Steam does this FAR TOO OFTEN to us Mac users. Giants has announced that a Mac version will be available. I could buy this from Giant's website, or from the Mac App Store, but I could also buy this from Steam...
Except Steam wants me to gamble. Hope they follow through with a Mac version, cause right now, they don't list a Mac version. That's part of the problem. Not JUST whether games will come out for the Mac or not, but games that have been CLEARLY announced by the developer to have a Mac version, NOT showing up as Mac compatible on Steam until some later date.
That's one problem I want to see come to an end
You are aware that that is the responsibilty of the developer right? Uploading the OSX version of the game to Steam and setting the flag that is available for the OS.
There can be reasons why the OSX Version of a game is available but not on Steam. If it was ported by a different company for example.
Or if doesn't have steam achievements integrated and the Windows version does. They probably wouldn't upload that either because they would get a bit of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for that.
