Graphics look bad/blurry, need help.
I don't know why but my game's graphics look nowhere near as good as i've seen on peoples videos/screenshots. The game looks blurry/low quality and i don't seem to know how to fix it. I have an RTX 2060.

If anyone knows about this or how to fix it, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

GT gas it's own graphics engine. Turn off the enhancements (AA, et al) of your graphics card.

If they look blurry it is probably the 3D resolution setting being low. Set it to the highest.

Exactly what Bambi says:

Set "3D view downscaling" to 100% (Video and Performance). I have a GTX 1070 which is worse than your GPU and it still is an overkill for 1080p/60. So, if you are on a 1080p monitor, then there is no reason at all to ever ever go below 100%. The game is CPU limited, so in large scale scenarios your GPU will have not much to do, if fps drop below 60.

BTW: I did tests some time ago with the goal to get the best possible image quality and came to the conclusion that the 3D rendering resolution has the strongest impact and greatly decreases blurriness, especially in the distance (but the GPU performance price is very high).

Even a foggy environment looks sharp when rendered in 4K internally for a 1080p monitor... :) But my GPU cannot render it at playable fps sadly, so only for screenshots atm:

Thanks for the reply but that setting has always been at 100%, tweaking this has no effect on how my game looks.

Your graphics aren't blurry but pixelated (at least that's what I can tell from the picture). So it almost certainly has to have something to do with your resolution.

Can you send us screenshots of your graphic settings?
Did you change something in the Nvidia control panel?
Does your CPU have an integrated graphics chip?

Hmm, I wonder which other games have their own graphics engine? But yeah, you can always try to switch off AA on your GPU. The switch for it is between the heatsink and the fans. You need a screwdriver and a hammer though.

Are you sure that you are tweaking the right setting? It is in the "Video and Performance" section. Your interface is rendered at 1080p on the screenshot, but your 3D view has a lower res.

:)

pfmm meant GPU driver settings - this caused problems for some players who used manual driver forced overrides. So this was the best initial advice.

Here goes the screenshot of that part of the settings; https://imgur.com/gallery/58olg83
Sharpening. Maybe try turning that off.

Thanks for the reply but this had no effect whatsoever on making my game less pixel-esque, i might just give up at this point and just enjoy the game haha
No difference between strong and no sharpening? That`s strange.
Toni Mar 16, 2022 @ 2:10pm
Ok - the only way for me to reproduce your problem is to go below 100%. The point is: your 3d res is low, but your UI res is at 1080p.

I do not even have an idea how one could achieve this by tweaking external rendering setting.

BTW: When this issue will be solved (hopefully soon):

- Grass on "Ultra high" has quite a performance impact, it is maybe better to choose a lower setting.

- Reduce dust and smoke gives you a big boost if you enable moderate reducing

It is not only about the GPU, everything has to go through the CPU too (and dust and smoke have a huge impact on visibility calculations), so decreasing these settings can give you a real boost, especially in big battles.

And the game will go below 60 fps regularly despite this too, like other CPU intensive sim engines (I am on a i9 11900K and frequently go down to the 40s in large battles or modern equipment battles and even below that during calculation heavy MLRS or large formation arty strikes). Just say it, so that you do not think something is wrong with your settings. Its the price of having an extremely detailed sim.

p.s. Sharpen "strong" looks not good. This is a 2d contrast enhancer of some kind, I prefer no sharpening effect or moderate depending on the monitor, but never "strong".

Yes, thats strange, he also said that changing the 3D downscaling % also makes no difference this is even more strange... :)
What`s your standard resolution setting in windows?
Toni Mar 16, 2022 @ 2:24pm
Here is how 100% looks:

And this is 10%:

All other settings exactly the same, just a lower 3D view res.
