Is this playable on a 4k monitor yet?
The game has been out for 8 years, and any scaling or UI questions the Developer dismisses as "why you create problem for yourself, just use a 1920x1080 CRT". I'd like to play this game from my couch with my 64" TV in 4k (or even 2k), but the fonts and icons are completely unreadable. It was fun for the brief period when I had to sit one foot in front of my computer screen like some basement dweller/office drone, but I'm a grown ass man with a nice TV that I use for gaming. Wish Steam's refund policy extended longer lol

The UI scales well enough for a 32 inch 4K monitor so that the game can be played at a normal distance for the screen size.

The UI is barely readable, and the text is NOT readable.

Actually, I realized I made a mistake. I have my desktop set to 2k resolution (2560x1440) and the UI is still impossibly small.

Check the options. There's a "increase UI size".

That doesn't increase the text size, which is the real problem.

Its an old engine with some facelift, and indie team with small revenues, buddy. You can expect minimal support for everything that appeared after 2009.

And I guess devs can be busy with more essential things at this moment if you know what I mean..

From the devs attitude, it sounds like if you're playing on a modern system you should just really ignore this game.

Yeah, I guess you right. If 4K is a top priority for you then you are not going to find strong support for it in this version of game.

Its unique game so there is not much choice. And 4K is still something exotic and unreliable for most of us. You are ahead of time a bit ))

I just can say, that I find it completely fine with a 32 inch monitor.

The ratio of overall screen size to text size is good for me. Now, a 32 inch monitor is REALLY large for a desk, but there it works.

While 4K use is still a minority there are a lot of good 4K monitors available now and most somewhat newer games support it without any issues. But yes, it will be many years before it becomes "standard", if at all. The overall cost for it is significant (GPU and monitor), but within the next few years and futher improved upscaling techniques it could be feasible for almost everybody, at least in theory (once 4K monitor prices drop significantly).

Yeah I'm the same but.. I thought most people used at least a 4K TV while on the couch for PC gaming? At least I have for years. Who sits at desks and why? Mechanical keyboard on lap, mouse on cushion, no problem, same as you mate! I don't have a prob reading the text, but maybe it's a combination of 1) my screen is superior quality, 2) it's bigger than yours, 3) my eyes are better and 4) my couch is closer haha!

All of that lol. I could move my couch closer, but I don't want to. Almost every other game I want to play lets me increase the font and UI to a playable state. Plus my vision sucks.

I do not even have a TV, my 32 inch monitor is my TV :). I use it for work, for playing games and watching Netflix and stuff. I have a nice chair to lean back in for watching stuff (I can fall asleep in it). I would guess that really the majority is using "classic" monitors and a desk setup for playing games, at least the industry seems to think so, too. For me it would feel weird to use a TV/couch setup for this :).

People and different individual preferences, haha.

I stopped sitting in front of a computer all day when I stopped working on-site. I choose comfy.

What are we talking about now?

Please don't speak on behalf of the developers. The developers don't have an attitude like you wrote.
