New explosion sounds are too loud
Why have the devs made the new artillery explosions so disgustingly loud compared to everything else? Is the intent to make us deaf like in a real war? Either I turn all sounds down to a whisper so the camera can be near an explosion or I turn the volume up and get a headache after literally 1 minute of playing. Please sort out your audio balancing devs

Loud is another issue, I hate the whizzing sound at the end of the explosion. Moving the camera when a shell explodes create this kind of "zzzzzzzzzzzzzz" sound. I hate it.

I think that might be a problem with the game using sound physics to represent the travel of sound waves. But honestly I'm just waiting for Ruki to release the updated version of their sound mod. Playing the game as it is now is giving me a headache, even with my overall audio levels turned down to 30% and further turning down Mius in the volume mixer to 15%

Yea, it's too loud. I am waiting for update witch fix it or ruki sound mod update because can't hear anything but explosions

Agreed. I turned down the master volume because the game has become so loud. Still love it though.

I'm using my sound mod small arms plus and since the update some of the sm+ explosions have been replaced by louder harsh explosions.....

There is a discussion in Ruki mod’s topic on why it was done (check last 10-15 messages).
if I paraphrase Andrey, the new explosion sounds are pleasantly mild versions of real explosions.
Agreed I don't like the new explosion sound. Yesterday I found my self just turning the sound off because it doesn't sound right to me. Admittedly I play this while watching podcast on second screen.

I added an option that limits the volume of special effects (in special settings). If does not like sharp sounds, you can try turning it on.

Playing the game is much more bearable, thanks.

When will you add directional incoming sounds i.e. the whistle and howl of various caliber shells. hearing a freight train fly overhead before a 203mm impact is more than necessary

Such sounds are and have always been, there is no need to add them again.

That's interesting, as you would assume one would be able to hear them if they were in the game.

You can but they are working under the same 3d sound system and volume levels so you have to have the camera in the right place and not have another louder sound playing to make them out.

The only incoming sounds ive ever heard are the terrible shrill whistle for mortar rounds. It sounds terrible and doesnt correspond to any projectile in particular.

For shells such sounds are also there.
