Please clarify. How can the colors be more historical?

Each side should get its own color. Unless they are sharing ammo. Blue for Gernmans / Green for Russians. Red for landlease stuff.

As far as I know, the Soviets used red tracers, the Germans used green, and lend-lease stuff used red as well. I just notice both sides using green/red interchangeably alot.

No, the Soviet used green tracers. Germans and the Western Allies used red tracers. These practices was followed after WWII: Warsaw Pact, green; NATO, red. Though I'm sure there will be exceptions.

I don't see green tracers today, from the old warsaw pact weapons.

Tracer colour depended on the compound burnt in the base of the projectile. Russian tracers were often green because they contained barium salts, if I remember correctly. Tracer colours varied from red, to orange, to green and yes, to blue. For most intents and purposes red tracer for allies and green for axis is fine (and as far as I can see is mostly how it is represented in game), but I'm sure it was more nuanced than that. There is quite a lot of info online.

Blue!?! What???

Really lol theme

German:
Leuchtspur “rot” based on strontium nitrate - red
Leuchtspur “grün” based on barium nitrate - green

USSR:
BT, BZT bullets, ST-46 based on barium nitrate - green (white green)
mixture P5C - red
mixture #10, T-46 - white/white green

The aircrafts MGs used more complex compositions, eg multicolour

In fact, blue tracers seem to be in the game already - some T34 ammunition looks blue to me (though this may be the white green Andrey described, as my screen is set to reduce blue light at night, using the f.lux program, which I recommend to people who have trouble sleeping!)

EDIT: Here's a picture: http://s11.photobucket.com/user/fireship4/media/blue%20tracer.jpg.html

Tank T34 not present in the game. Only T-34 in 2 modifications.
T-34 is a Soviet tank. And its gun uses Soviet shells too, and with Soviet tracers. And T-34 does not have the "Blue for Gernmans" tracers, only Soviet red, green, white-red or white red with blue notes. But not Germans blue :steamhappy:

P.S. Please read carefully what questions I answer (I quote them) :)

My post wasn't meant to prove you wrong. I just saw it in game the other day and found this thread again.
