Therefore, the default start option is not to reduce the size.
The settings at the start of the operation are not intended to completely replace the main game settings. They are intended to override those settings that might be inconvenient. Cancellations, not replacements.
If the setting is not enabled, it cannot be canceled, it has already been canceled
Yes, but most people need the "reduce BG size" options for _performance reasons_ (to reduce units and get playable fps in battles) and not for difficulty reasons.
You wrote in an older thread, that options for performance are acceptable options (while pure gameplay options are often problematic from a developers perspective or even some kind of "weakness"). So options for performance, that make the game playable for people with less powerful hardware should be acceptable.
These players just want to:
(a) Reduce user and allied BGs.
(b) Reduce enemy BGs.
to symmetrically scale down the units for better performance!
And they do not want to change the whole game to "easy" difficulty ("easy" enables: always see enemy; decreases enemy resources, and a lot of other completely unwanted things related to difficulty and not performance).
Can I ask you:
Would it be possible, to include the two "reduce BGs" settings in the "Game settings"? Like the "Reduce the number of soldiers in the platoons" option. Other options are already available there independently, even if they are linked to the "difficulty presets". So it would not even change the preset system:

I would be really important for people with not so good hardware. It enables them to play operations, that they could not play/enjoy otherwise. I bought every DLC for GT and TW and many are not playable without reducing - for example: I bought some DLCs years ago and never played them for performance reasons. With those reducing options, I could finally play them. And there are many other people struggling with performance if there are too many units in the battles.
Thank you for considering!
BTW: I know, that there is also the "Limited battle radius" option for better performance, but it is not really usable:
(a) It "slices" the battles in so many smaller battles, that no one (at least no working adult) has time to play through the longer operations.
(b) And even if a player would have so much time: It is extremely tedious to play all this small battles every turn.
(c) It also makes the relevant battlefield area so small, that the battles get tactically completely uninteresting.
So the only viable way for better performance, is, to use other options for reducing the units in a battle, like "reducing BG size". Please allow these performance options outside of the difficulty presets.
