German Infantry Anti-Tank Tactics 1941/1942
This video takes a look at German Infantry Anti-Tank Tactics in 1941/1942 on the Eastern Front. The video is almost exclusively based on primary sources. It covers the use of various close-range weapons like geballte Ladungen, Mines, Molotov-Cocktails and other measures against tanks like the T-34, KV-1 and KV-2. Additionally, a lot of original German names are used and translated.

Strange video. Describes for the most part fantastic methods (except for the mine bridge), while completely ignoring more adequate means. Where are the rifle grenades? Where are the blendcopfers? Where are the armor-piercing bullets? Where are the explosive charges? Where are the AT barriers?

In 41-42, most of the tanks were light BT / T-26 / T-60 where are they? Why is there a KV-2 if the probability of meeting him is less than the probability of winning the lottery?

Where in the end the results of all this idiocy in the form of wrecked tanks. Or are they not exists?

German AT tactics in 1941/42 are as follows:
1) intelligence and proper use of anti-tank guns
2) attacks on the rear of tank units and cutting communications
3) some oddities inherent in the actions of Soviet tank troops in these years

everything else is some kind of fantasy from elf country :steammocking:.

Where are the German molotovs and jerry cans filled with petrol? The video stressed the KVs and T-34 because the German infantry weren't worried about the light tanks.

The Russian infantry seem to have their own gas station set up behind the lines when it comes to flame weapons.

I could probably show at least a dozen pics of tanks taken out by infantry soldiers, but then pictures can say many different stories and can be staged.

To be fair they have their own gas station.

The KS bottle, which many players thought is molotov cocktail is actually an industrial production set up behind the Soviet lines, tons of these commercial bottles transferred into the Military for anti-tank purposes. Its chemical mixtures, not crude terrorist weapons or protesters firearms.

Fact is, you are not the first person to bring out that video.

I think in the elves world.
You still forgot to mention the ax and the weight that you need to carry with you to outweigh the charge on the barrel. I can imagine what a German soldier would do if in reality he would be offered to deal with such garbage :steamhappy:.

What does it mean that you didn’t worry about light tanks, if they mainly attacked the German infantry and represented the main problem in these years? That sounds kind of weird.
And the probability of seeing the KV or T-34 was very small.

Incomprehensible comment. Just in case, let me remind you that the Soviet infantry did not use gasoline-based means to set fire to tanks. What are you writing about? Looks like you apparently have no idea how this works :steamfacepalm:

No gas was used in the KS bottle. So gas station is not needed.

Sorry, but at the time of the general spread of the Internet, even children already know that it’s difficult to set fire even to a car with a bottle of gas, not just a tank.

From which this idiotic idea arises all the time that someone used it in WW2 times to set fire to tanks :steamsad:.

No no I'm not saying literally they had gas station.

Its a joke. :steamhappy:

So in this game only Russian infantry are dedicated anti-tank hunters and German infantry are scared children when tanks are present? :(

And the axe was used on the engine vents!

No, everything is exactly the opposite, but fortunately the Germans had few tanks

Again:
German AT tactics in 1941/42 are as follows:

2) attacks on the rear of tank units and cutting communications
3) some oddities inherent in the actions of Soviet tank troops in these years

It really worked in 1941-42, and even in 43, there is no need for palliative means if regular staff work.

But the Soviet infantry was much worse, since most of the anti-tank artillery was lost, and had to rely on palliative means such as KS bottles and ATRs.

Desperate men devise desperate measures when self preservation is at stake. German and Russian.

OK, let me make this clear before the other hall monitors and political corrections officers step in.

I've been playing Graviteam games for almost a decade. This game and Fighting Flattops are about the only two games I play regularly. Some things in the game I've learned to live with, but the infantry vs tank combat has grated my ass non-stop. If they can't defend themselves I at least expect them to hide not run around taunting the tanks.

Everything else meets my satisfaction, but this one issue always plagues me in this game.

So I know a thing or two about elves, ok? The truth is that elves use neither tanks nor petrol, end of story. If threatened by a KV-1, they cut its fuel line with their +1 dagger.

Seriously though, the spring 1942 game feels different from the autumn 1943 game in large part because infantry alone are less effective against tanks in early '42 than in late '43.. There's a lot of professionally researched literature that appears to support that narrative, although I suppose we can argue the specifics and the degree to which it affects the results.
