Help with camera (too fast) (SOLVED)
Hi

Camera movement is just way too fast
Yes, I can press SHIFT to slow it, but then, if I have a unit selected with Shift pressed, it is very hard to deploy it anywhere, because SHIFT also deployes units to the coursor.

Is there a way to restore old slower camera speed?

And in battle it would be better to make Camera faster with shift pressed rather then slower.

Thank you

That's interesting. Have you tried changing the camera speed in the settings? I've been experiencing the opposite. My mousewheel scrolls the camera extremely slowly since the update. It takes about ten seconds just to scroll from a skyview to the ground.

will check, did not have time.
Yes, currently very hard to deploy troops, camera movement is too fast.

There's a camera sensitivity option in settings, maybe that will help?

Adjust cam options .... Mine came back fast as well , but I can deal with it .

This is ridiculous

Ive tried playing with:
Camera acceleration
Camera rotation speed
Camera movement speed

IT DOES NOT HELP!
When camera is in lowest possible position to the ground, no metter what - it moves too fast!

Why would developers do thing like that?!
Just makes game nearly unplayable for me during deployment stage
With unit selected, everytime I press SHIFT - selected units gets deployed to the coursor.
This leads to chaos, because you start moving units around without intent.
And without SHIFT - camera movement is so fast, that it becomes unusable when trying to asses the field of view from certain point.

Developers had always been careful with changes - but this one is just stupid

I want camera movement same as before
Or what setting I have to set to get the same effect?

Please help!

Developers didn't have a choice this time, the camera system broke and not just a little broke, it broke the whole game! I'm sure it will improve over time as they re-write the camera.

What does it mean does not help? You put the minimum sensitivity in the settings, apply the settings, load the battle and nothing changes?

Something definitely changed with the camera recently as I used to have it at same settings as Operation Star and it was great. Now with movement and rotation speed set at six it's workable but the camera at ground level is not as smooth as before. and a little too jerky.

I guess you could think of it as "cinema verite" as it makes it harder to follow the action at ground level.

But on the plus side what great action it is.The units seem to be moving into combat and supporting each other even better than previously and I have noticed a lot of grenades being lobbed when in close. Have some animations been added?

Let me explain again:

Camera movement does changes
but
when right at the ground level even with:
1. Camera acceleration off
2. Camera rotation and movement = 1
Camera movement is very fast. when I zoom out - it moves very slowly indeed, but close to the ground - very fast, and only by holding SHIFT I can slow it down

Another solution would be to change settings so the SHIFT wont move the selected unit, but there is no such option noither in settings nor in controls

It's the same speed but looks faster the nearer you are to the ground.
If you need slow fine movement near the ground tap the WSAD keys instead of holding, it's what I do. All the other camera controls are also on the NUM pad if you need them too.

yes, but i really liked the old way, why cant i do that?
It worked fine before, and now I need to use all kind of tricks, why?

Either I am dreaming, or its is real...
Either way, this new small update fixed the problem for me. Camera is much more smooth when close to the ground.

Thank you!
As I already mentioned in my review - one of the best game developers you guys are!

Everything looks too confusing.

The camera can be moved in 4 different ways:
1) WASD
2) Holding Z and moving the mouse
3) The numeric keypad
4) Bringing the cursor to the edge of the screen

Which way (the old way) do you use? And which one became very fast?

Damn, well, now we do not know what happened :steamhappy:.

In about every other game using WASD keys, Shift is used to move faster, for instance Total War, holding down Shift makes the camera move faster than regular speed.

In GT games, it's the other way around, forcing the player to hold down Shift at all times to have a semblance of control of the camera... as usual the changes make no sense.

At times I feel like this is still Early Access alpha release.
