There is a lot of topographical symbols, we should make a FAQ about that
Re: topo map symbols - Yes, it would be nice to have a symbol legend/chart. Nothing fancy. Just like what they put on actual maps. :) I believe that the dots with a number by them are elevation measurements. And in the small Russian campaign, the "277.9 height" mentioned in the Operation notes is referring to I think is actually Mount Saur-Mogiliskiy, the key point near the summit which is marked with a circle with 6 short lines radiating out from it. And, the straight horizontal blue lines are...marshes, I think? :/ Also, I know that somewhere I've seen the symbol that looks like a little grave headstone that is situated on the NW side of Saur-Mogiliskiy itself. Anyway, bottom line is that it would be nice to have a symbol legend. :) Not a HUGE big deal, but it would still be nice, nonetheless. ;)
Thanks for the feedback! :) I've been slowly putting together a sort of "player aid" guide as a supplement to the game manual. Who knows, if it's good (and polished) enough, maybe I'll post it someday. Slow going, though, as I have some medical issues which prevent me from staying up for very long. :/ But, I love this game and its sometimes mysterious system. :P Anyway, take care! :)
