Screenshot thread!
Just had an awesome battle. Turn 11 / 18 of the main campaign. I still haven't finished the main campaign yet. I love these long ones. Tanks and wrecks everywhere!

Yeah, had the same thing in that campaign as well. The best way to deal with Stugs.

Rare to see:

First hit blew of the drivers hatch. Lucky guy and very determined going on like this.

This gives us the rare opportunity to see what goes on inside when a tank is hit. Even the fragment distribution can be seen to a degree
Second hit. Luck runs out.

The shell broke and the fragments killed the poor driver and the gunner.

Thanks for sharing! Brave driver, sad to see his fate...

These little "combat stories" that happen on the individual soldier or unit level are what I find most memorable and interesting about GT tactical battles. I try to get down to this "individual soldier level" as much as possible...
Just seeing hundredths of dots from far above is not that immersive for me - it also looks very spectacular and fascinating of course, because the landscapes look gorgeous from an aerial viewpoint, especially in combination with artillery going down and smoke all over the battlefield, but following some individual units (often a command tank or unit for "role-playing purposes") or sitting behind a gun crew or in a trench during battle, witnessing all these "little" individual stories, is what I prefer... very immersive.

BTW: This is also the reason why I prefer smaller battles (like for example in Furtive Spring), if there are too many units in a tactical battle the fps go down. In aerial view far above the battlefield this is not much of a problem, but on ground level, with a lot of movement in front of the camera, low fps produce a "slideshow" and break immersion. If the camera is up in the air like this, fps drops are not that problematic:

Yes, the large battles are not very good for going to the ground level. But I do it as often as I can as well.

Hunting SU-152 in the gloom: 12 engineers stuffed to both ears with explosives against 3 Su-152 without infantry support after they expended most shells against my tanks and infantry. It is best if the victim has no MG, no friends to help, little ammo and is half blind.

Several dozen Tellermines and HHL-3 later.

Three SU-152 less for 3 dead pioneers. Most of the SUs did not even see the engineers before they went immobile.

We should sticky that for whenever the infantry vs tank discussion inevitably rears its head. Yes, infantry can damage tanks, when they have no anti-personnel weapons, no support, no ammo and low visibility :steamhappy: .

Make sure to hide your halftrack before disembarking!

That 88 spent all of its ammo, killing several T70, halftracks and a bunch of infantry. No wonder the guy is tired.
