Red cross question
I noticed yesterday that some units have red cross, which is just amazing. But also red cross is not free sign to use, it's somehow protected and they don't really let it use in games, even arma 3 don't have that.

https://www.google.pl/amp/kotaku.com/video-games-arent-allowed-to-use-the-red-cross-symbol-1791265328/amp

I just hope it won't get removed. Did they let you use it or it's somehow ok since it's historical game?

Aren't the developers in like Ukraine, I doubt they would even be arrested for such things considering they are sort of in a civil war.

I know that some games have it and some add it as mod, but it's still illegal. Like in the link i posted, it was removed from prison architect because they made them to :/

Kind of shame that stuff like this is problem if game wants to aim in realism.

Looks like that's from the nightpostman mod.

I took his screenshots but I am 100% sure I have seen them in my game and I use no mods.

I never seen these red crosses during hundreds of battles.

In Kill Bill the nurse assassin had a red cross eye patch: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/a5/44/00/a544007aeacc4404f2d164987a8ce94b.jpg

Somebody should arrest Quentin Tarantino. Seriously who cares?

Well, i do. I am not against having it, i like it. I am just curious, that's all. Same goes to swastica in games, while some have it, other don't. Which is interesting and rise question why some can add it and why some won't, same with SS units. Huge taboo.

This is the bandage of a German medic. It has nothing to do with the red cross.

The image of a swastika is forbidden by the laws of many countries. The image of bandages of medics is not forbidden anywhere (at least I have not heard about this). This is the difference.

I did not mean to compare it, it was seperate thought. I know in some countries it's forbidden but there are still games with it, maybe some countires can get it censored especially if it's on steam and can lock something in certain region.

Can't agree on this one.

"In 1929 the Geneva Convention was signed by 47 governments which included Germany. (..) as well as the introduction of a common insignia to identify those involved in providing humanitarian care for the sick, wounded, and incapacitated, The agreement included specific regulations regarding the use of the Red Cross brassard for military and medical personnel involved in the care of wounded both armed and civilian. German Army (Heer) Medical Attendants (Sanitäter) were authorized to wear the red and white insignia of the Red Cross on uniforms to include combat helmets."

Well, it means that German medics wore a red cross and are also wearing in the game. What is the problem then?
Headshotkill Jul 1, 2017 @ 3:34am
By law the red cross symbol should never be shown in a fictional context, basicly the only time in your life you should see that cross is when it's an actuall medic or humanitarian worker.

But if so, how would anyone know how the cross looks like if you never see it before.
Adler Jul 1, 2017 @ 3:37am
You are right, this is the problem with using red cross. Still lot's of games have it but as long as they don't contact you i guess it's ok. I don't support idea of locking it or whatever they do.

And i guess you are right, Headshotkill. If something is in game then many kids would recognize it, don't know why they are so weird about it.
