Thank you !
I played Life is Strange and it is known to have a similar style to David Cage's games, amazing game.
And I know Humble Bundle has a Telltale bundle right now, so I'll be sure to get Back to the Future and The Walking Dead.
Tales from the Borderlands is excellent as well
Well, I bought the Telltale bundle so I'll check out some of the games.
And I should have a ps3 somewhere lying around. Heavy Rain costs about 8 euro second-hand
Downloading Tales from the Borderlands right now, I heard it has an epic finale.
What was with there being a Beyond: Two Souls "record" in Tyler's Motown collection? Last I checked, Ellen Page isn't a Motown singer. :)
Not sure why I see the Telltale hate so often. I guess that's what happens when something is popular. I love Clementine in the Walking Dead, and the ending of Season One was extremely emotional. The Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands were as good as any stories in other video games.
I think the hate comes from the lack of actual gameplay.
Finished playing Tales From The Borderlands today, really loved it and I'll be playing many more Telltale games.
That's actually the best list you could get and Alan Wake share more than gameplay similarities, some elements on the story are really close to Fahrenheit if you take a close look.
Telltale are far from being awful. They're actually quite good.
I just think The Walking Dead: Season 2 and a few of their more recent games have fell in terms of quality. In many ways Season 2 represents a lot of what is wrong with what they put out now, including the shorter length of each episode (The Walking Dead: Season 1 had 2.5 hour long episodes... you'd be lucky to get a 1 hour episode from Telltale nowadays).
For me, Season 2 was pretty okay at the end of the day. My main issues were: player agency isn't there, writing is noticeably weaker which leads me onto my next point, Clementine doing a lot of adult tasks that no young girl can really pull off - not to mention she can easily kick down a door and everyone's depending on her to do almost everything in the entire game, Season 2 has far less puzzles and player hubs for you to take a walk and talk to people, weird pacing issues, plot holes, Carver is made to be the main antagonist and is then killed off shortly afterwards, 400 days characters are used horribly and a rushed and rather forced conflict towards the end of the game.
I have heard Tales from the Borderlands was fantastic but I haven't played it myself. I echo my vote for Life is Strange though. Life is Strange was my favourite game of 2015 because it was truly something else and did some things that Telltale do a whole lot better. Definetly lacked some polish but I don't think a game's ever affected me like Life is Strange has.
