Achievements too easy?
Anyone else notice how easy the achievements were? I mean, I get that people want achievements for making progress on a game -- there's even achievements for failing at certain times, but what about some real challenge?

Aside from the one for saving all the kids in the burning hanger -- a tedious part of the game -- and maybe the scene where you can impress the cop with your shooting skills, there weren't really an real challenges.

Here are some ideas of what could've been:

Seeker - Collect all bonus cards within one play through.

Faith Healing - Collect all extra lives.

The Chosen One - Complete the game in Hard difficulty without failing one quick time event.

Hit and Run- Cover all your tracks after the murder. (Hide knife, body, clean up, pay bill, and leave.)

Invisibles - Notice each of the homeless people following Lucas.

Informant - Get Bogart to talk.

Wanted Man - Get perfect match when recreating Lucas' face when playing as Kate.

Men and Directions - Use the clues and find the book in the library on your first try.

Sneak and Seek - Get passed the military base without being caught.

Curiosity Killed the Cat - While playing as Marcus and Lucas, sneak passed all the guards without being spotted.

Locked Away - Discover Agatha's Clue.

Just a few to name. Most could probably be done with practice or a walkthrough but to the naked eye they'd be almost invisible. Pun not intended.

I agree, just got done with my 100% completion and there was nothing there that really needed to be 'achieved' outside of regular play (other than replaying a scene with the Child and playing the different endings); compared to the likes of Heavy Rain or 'Two Souls.
And I'll never understand the idea behind awarding achievements for failing certain events or scenes like Carla and the archive room one or getting a gameover via sanity either - that's something I actually had to look up since who would intentionally fail these otherwise?

The surprising thing is that the announcement claims that these all came from the community, I would have assumed that the community could come up with more challenging and thought provoking things than this.
I mean, to be fair I guess I kind of know this game like the back of my hand due to playing the original version a bunch of times in 2005, but still..
Aspyr said they would've liked to add more but this is all they could give us it seems (it is an old game after all, and most of us have no idea what's possible).

That being said: the community came up with some brilliant suggestions. I can't remember if I was the original person who came up with the achievements that involve failing but ultimately we wanted to suggest as many as we could. Here was a list just from me and Mr. Hell:

Yep, it was an AWESOME list and we wished we could have done more.

Unfortunately, the source code for this game is lost. So we cant really do any hooks that arent dialogue or cut scene based.
