Does anyone have a guide or any tips on how to get the Straight Flush Achievement?

I feel like ♥♥♥♥, I didn't realise it was this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rare. Got the hand and won but Steam was down so I didn't get my achievement. Sigh...

Nah, it doesn't work like that. I think the formula for this is 1 - (1 - p)^k with p being probability and k being attempts. This means that 72192 hands actually gives you a 63% change of getting the straight flush. 100000 hands gives a 75% chance, and 166000 hands gives a 90% chance. At least, that's how I *think* it works, can someone verify?

....sigh.

System, that's for 5-card poker. This is 7-card, so the expected value is closer to 3218 hands.

I did think something was off...

This means 63% for 3218 hands, 75% for 4461 hands, and 90% for 7409 hands. I feel a lot better.

Do you people use 'speed hack' when aiming for this achievement as I suggested earlier? If you use it, you'll get the ach. almost in no time.

I've become a bit good at clicking both mouse buttons right when someone starts talking... some quips might take a third click (even with "Mum's the word" set on). It also works on the host mentioning the blind increases.

Сhance to get a straight-flush from one to eight percent. So if you want to get it, you should play a long time... There are no tricks or something.

I don't want to use some sort of program to unlock this achievement. I rather get it on my own legitimately, which is the whole point I go for achievements in the first place. However, I do wish there was a way to completely eliminate the character dialogue throughout an entire poker tournament.

Don't you think that with the game sped up obtaining this achievement is very easy. You still have to put some effort into it.

Think about it this way. To have the achievement, you have to do something. So even launching CE, making necessary adjustments, etc. are actions on their own. Together with actually playing the game they'll constitute an effort you put into your achievement. Speeding up the game, will just shorten the time until you finally get it, not unlock it immediately. If you simply sit there waiting for that bla-bla-blah nonsense (which, I bet, you are soo fed up with by now) is actually doing nothing (unless you count waiting as 'doing something' that is). In that respect not using speed hack is actually less effort (but more time). It is like workers instead of digging through a mountain would sit next to it waiting until it is removed by erosion.

After a combined 100hrs on both games (1 & 2) I still havent gotten a single straight flush in either game... If there were a most evol award for dastardly achievements... this would win hands down! lol

I had a freakin straight flush in the 2 game, and never saw any in the 1 one. Tough.

Today I got as close as never before to the achievement. My cards: 3 and 5 in red. On the table: 4, 6, 10 and 8 in red. So I needed a red 7 to get the achievement. Final card: BLUE 7.

Either following George1's advice or not, I would recommend using a utility like autohotkey and using macros to click either Fold or Check with a single key press. Maybe autofire outside the buttons as well to get through all the "Click to start the next hand" messages. Because as unlikely as a straight flush is, even with the game sped up you're risking RSI with all the mouse clicking you'll be doing.

Obviously if you freeze money, you can just set up an autofire and leave the mouse on the Check button - so every hand is played out - and leave it running overnight. And even then there's a good chance it won't happen in one night... I don't condone cheating but this achievement is so ridiculous that it seems almost wrong to play (read: be bored) for potentially hundreds of hours just to get it.

@F.o.B.: A straight needs all the same suits, not just red/black. So if some of those reds were hearts and others were diamonds, it wouldn't count. On the other hand, if the 3, 4, 5 and 6 were all the same suit, you would have got a straight flush with either a 2 or a 7 of that suit.

Ok I didn't even know that. My hand consisted of two hearts and two diamonds :rfacepalm:

Did someone try the AutoHotKey-Method described by Miraglyth, yet? My first attempt ended in an instant game crash but I guess that could be fixed by getting more into that scripting stuff (just made a clicking loop without any break or return-command), any advice?

Seriously, I'm getting really tired of this stupid achievement. I most certainly played over 5000 hands since I started using cheatengine (before that it was like 1200 and I got all of the other achievements pretty quickly). Had 4/5 a few times but that's it :/ It just consumes time of endless clicking but I can't stop because it's driving me crazy not getting the last achievement.
